I'd like Tony, when he interviews Matt, to ask him what is really wrong. AS several have said, almost the same squad as last year, a reasonable side on paper, yet apart from 2 games we look really poor. Surely Matt knows-but of course that doesn't mean he would tell us . But worth a try, Tony?

“Almost the same squad as last year”
Not a particularly accurate comment.

“Almost the same squad as last year” Not a particularly accurate comment. Oddly enough it kind of is and isn't at the same time. The squad overall is very different, but the area of the pitch where we've got the most issues (defence) is almost the same. Up front, where we've seen the biggest changes, is arguably much improved on last year, which makes our entire situation even weirder.

You could also argue the spine of the team has changed with a new goalkeeper, centreback and centre midfield.
The injury situation with both Louis John and Craig Eastmond worries me.

In midfield, you could argue that. But in reality Ali Smith and Adam Lovatt went and mostly the centre of midfield last season were Eastmond, Beautyman, Smith and Milsom (when he wasn't playing left back), 3 out of 4 are still here. In defence, Matt's preferred back 4 were always Kizzi, Goodliffe, John and Milsom and Rose in goal. With Hart, Rowe and Barden being used when needed. Due to injuries Enzio dropped in too, but that's still the same back 4, and with the exception of Omar in for Louis, that started the 5-1 victory over Notts County. And all 4 of those in defence were offered contract extensions half way through last season. This is the bit I don't understand. How can players who were ok over the previous 2 seasons, suddenly turn to sh*t?

I keep thinking that I should post some cogent observations. Or try to. But, frankly, I am quite lost with it.

I think there is an obligation for the club to do 2 of these a year. Maybe best wait until we are midtable! Which league , our current one or the Conference 😩

You mean the National League. The Conference doesn't exist.
Apologies, but pedantry at it's best.

I can't see any point in a Q&A at the present time.
I think they will be in the midst of determining the answer to those questions themselves.

It would end in tears. While I have reluctantly made my feelings known, while Matt has the support of the club and has this very difficult job to do, best to not push and add more pressure, as I doubt that will help.
One thing I have no doubt about, he is busting his arse to turn things around, maybe to the point he could be busting too hard.
