Steve hasn't looked comfortable in his post match interviews since match one, but not everyone is a Klopp or Pep in front of a microphone and camera. The lack of a single win obviously has an effect in his manner so I don't think we should be too harsh on him. A couple of wins and he may be the most amicable man in football.

I fail to see how Ahmed on Radio London was anything other than professional, asking difficult questions is his job and Steve as a professional manager had a choice to answer, decline to answer, side step or answer as he did.
I think the club and Steve both owe Ahmed and radio London an apology for this attitude. It’s unprofessional and childish from a league 2 manager.

We don’t want name calling or member abuse, yes it sometimes happens when it gets heated but post like yours will not be tolerated.

I don't think there is too much wrong with the line of questioning. The problem at the moment is that everyone wants to blame, the interviewer, the ref, or devine intervention for the problems at the club, rather than look inwards. It's about time you put some meat on the bones of your constant carping about the club. Constant broad statements but no detail. What is it exactly, away from the obvious, that you think is wrong? This from a,so called fan who hasn't ventured inside any ground to watch Sutton play for, well, how long is it?

The club is in a mess because of decisions taken or not taken before Steve joined.

And if Steve wants to become a member of this forum And make it known I would say the same. Steve was the “aggressor” in this instance , so why Ahmed is being called names is beyond me. However you have openly called another member of this forum “a real prick”, as one of the Admin of this forum I’ve politely Iasked that you edit that post and another.

As you say the obvious, we are bottom of the league, we have had a terrible run for about a season and a half now. We have had 2 managers and changes to the clubs board, and things have not improved. So this has not just happened, the ship has been taking in water for a long while, and its listing badly. Is it unreasonable to ask the captain (the board in this case), why are we sinking? what is he doing about it? And what happens if we do sink? I think Tim alluded to in his statement in the programme, that they may not have got everything right, so some decisions which have bought the club to this point must have therefore been wrong. As you point out, I am a fan, nearly as long as you, but I don't wear amber tinted glasses, I am a realist. I know that many clubs that have been in our position before struggle to compete when relegated, so I am looking for reassurance that is not going to happen to us, eg some form of plan going forward. I am actually surprised that others are sticking their fingers in their ears and not asking the same questions about the club they love?

Let's face it, everyone closely associated with the club is feeling the pressure now, though some more than others. I wouldn't want to be in Steve's position at the moment, but I don't doubt that he's striving to turn things round. The time for an in-depth assessment of where we are will come once the season has ended.
As for that BBC interview, neither interviewer nor interviewee came out of it well. Let's hope that lessons have been learned. Probably best now to move on. We do have a game this evening.

I am actually surprised that others are sticking their fingers in their ears and not asking the same questions about the club they love? Most clubs make errors. Look at Everton and others as examples. You quote Tim which is the easy way out. You have still yet to explain where YOU think we went wrong. Just another bland statement. What would you have done that the board haven't? You seem to forget our promotion was hamstrung (against most of the rest of L2) from the start. New pitch, the need to massively improve the facilities. Very few other L2 clubs had those to finance. That put us behind the curve from the start. Makes our first season's achievements in L2 even more remarkable. And you have still to answer when you last physically attended a match. That suggests to me it was a fair while ago. And if so, how can you sit there and moan at others contributions when you can't even be bothered to watch matches in person? As for a full post mortem l will wait until this season is over before adding my three pence worth.

To be totally fair, one has to remember Matt Gray also specifically requested Ahmed not to do post match interview after one rather poor one.
In terms of publicity, no one is going to remember this outside the club in a few days.
My opinion is neither of them really covered themselves in glory. Steve was really quite rude, but Ahmed really showed his limitations as a reporter and lack of agility.

I have to say though, looking back at the comments, I did chuckle at..
"Is there anything you could have done more?" "Yes, score a goal" "Is there anything else you could have done more?" "Yes score 2 more goals"

[/quote] Mark, I really don’t think you can assume that if someone hasn’t been to matches it’s because they can’t be bothered. It could be for any number of reasons and no-one has to answer to you for that.

Why thankyou I have made my point, I won't be naming names, its not the right thing to do. I think I first met MarkF about 50 years ago, so I have grown an elephants hide.
