Oh dear that's superb. I hope there's some video footage somewhere... yes I know it's about as likely as the Faroe Islands qualifying for a major tournament but one can hope.

A fantastic, mature performance by all concerned which the team should be extremely proud of. No arguments about one of the sending offs, one was debatable and the other totally unwarranted as the player wasn`t involved what-so-ever !!!! Their keeper was very lucky to not have been sent off earlier after giving away the penalty.I`m sure had that been our keeper the Pagham team & supporters would have been screaming at the Ref for a red card. Some of their challenges were debatable at best, and should have been punished All the while the Pagham supporters were screaming " He won the ball " do these people not realize that you cannot challenge for the ball with studs up ? With the afore mentioned red cards and suspensions looming we were lucky not to have picked up any serious injuries which could jeopardize what is starting to look like a realistic opportunity to go a long, if not all the way in this competition.

I does seem we have a talented youth squad. The manager and coaching staff must take a lot of the credit for their success. Well done. Playing Devils advocate If the team did progress far in the FA youth cup scouts from league teams would cherry pick the best players; also a cup run would cost the club money due to the traveling and other expenses involved in a long cup run. Apart from the kudos what does the club get out of a successful youth team?

I am not sure but can the club some how tie in these boys and some of the boys in the reserves that are from the youth team too who have had to loose there place in the youths due to the rules changing on age this year ie not school year but year of birth. These boys have all been with Academies and have all proved themselves again and again, just the only thing that hold them back from being one of the best team Suttons ever had is the age and strength which will come. This team of boys are amazing to watch. It would be good for Sutton to some how sign contracts with them that might make the boys feel really wanted and the club could make some good money, as many of these will make the club good money going forward. Maybe the boys can sign a deal where they might not get paid at this stage but if a other club wants them, they get a small fee from the deal???n They need to invest in the future, these boys are the future and blood line of the club. Some of these boys have been with Sutton on and off since they was 7.

Looks like the youth's are worth watching!!! 14-0 one week & then fail to concede even though they had a two man defecit the next.
Shame about Billy has he has impressed for the firsts recently. He looks to have grown over the summer in stature and confidence.
Agree with geeman about securing our future but I believe there are rules & regs governing contracts with players at this age. They may prove an obstacle.

Wouldn`t have thought some of the previous comments would make the Youth/Ressie players feel wanted....................Seems the comments are more about the club selling & making money from them !!! Which in real terms is about using them for financial gain. Surely we should be embracing them and encouraging them to play and bring some success, pride and achievement which has been lacking for a while now. Some of these players may well be fortunate enough to progress on to greater things and yes the club should look to rewarding them financially and contractually and if they decide that their future lies elsewhere then so be it but lets not talk of selling just yet. As for the comment regarding the financial burden on the club that a good cup run would have.............lets not forget that these players are not paid and generally have to cover their own expenses for travel, not too mention some who now work and have to take time off and leave early to make midweek fixtures which can also cause financial loss Perhaps some of the budget spent on getting a "Brand New" 1st team could have been allocated to the development of some of the excellent players we already have

Grunt i agree with you. I was just being real that not all will get into first team, as all managers as we know always bring in there old favourites from their own networks of clubs. I just not sure how we can keep this team all together, as I really feel they could do so much if kept together. These boys will all want to be in the reserves next year and push on into first team the following if not before, these boys are all hungry and all expect to be playing at a high level. Maybe Sutton could loan out boys to get first team experience if they cant get them all in, so they can get experience and some money, just like Tommy has....... Then Sutton can keep tabs on them as well as pull them in if needed and maybe even get them all playing together in later years... Maybe just a dream
thoughts!!

Loaning them out when they're in the ressies is probably what'll happen. Either that or the good ol' dual reg thingy.

You can only loan out players that are under contract. Putting a player under contract is a financial risk, more so if they are not regular fist team players. Answering my earlier concerns we've a number of youngsters progress the the first team in the past so hopefully it will continue with our current squad
