A very good interview from a very enthusiastic Steve he talks about polishing it off on the training ground. I may have missed it but where is our new training ground?

excellent interview. Liked him from the start, unlike some, and I'm sure he knows what he's doing. Looks like he is creating a young ambitious squad that will be able to shape to his way of playing.

This is NOT a criticism of Matt or of the Board etc but I now feel that the club is moving in the right direction after the disaster of the last eighteen or so months . I get the feeling that all aspects of the club have become more professional , both on and off the pitch , since we got relegated . By this I mean that when we won the NL and got promoted to the EFL there seemed to be a feeling of WTF , we are up and it all seemed so rushed to prepare for life at that level which in many’s ways it had to be of course . Now it seems that the club is gunning for success rather than hoping for it . I loved this interview and sincerely hope that we can enjoy success under Steve’s management . I believe that we can 😁

The club was well aware of potential promotion to the EFL back when we lost to B/Wood in the playoffs. Many attempts were made to make the necessarily changes in structure then and not wait until it finally happened. What happened was that the new board wanted to do things their way and they rejected advice and offers of help they were given to them.
It remains to be seen if the board now have it right?

You keep on alluding to this without giving any substantive detail. What advice? What offers of help? I suspect the only offer that would’ve helped the club over the last couple of years would’ve been someone offering them £10m investment. But as I doubt that you were going to provide that, please let us know what was advised or offered that would’ve kept us in the EFL. Or alternatively STFU.

Like hell it was. Winning the NL came out of the blue. We had changed manager since losing in the play-offs and that meant Dos's cash had gone too. Crystal ball gazing would have been needed to predict that. As Tony D says, as ever you fail to back up your constant sniping with hard evidence. Who advised what and how would the club have benefited financially? About time you came clean or if not, shut the eff up.

A club of Sutton's stature can't expect to be in the league even if they get it right, it would need some luck, getting it right, and a great deal of hard work. The likes of Forest Green who have just bought a good league one midfielder (Adam May), will likely go up if they get it right..

As Tony D says, as ever you fail to back up your constant sniping with hard evidence. Who advised what and how would the club have benefited financially? About time you came clean or if not, shut the eff up. What do you mean come clean? Are you asking for years of emails, or representations made to the club at ManCom etc? I can only say that from the Arsenal match it was clear to some of us that significant changes needed to be made, certainly with a view to marketing and media whatever the status of the club just to deal with the changing times. That became even more apparent when we got to within a match of promotion to the EFL. There was little or no representation on ManCom for media, and marketing consisted of what what wooden boards Jeremy Ramsden could sell after pocketing his 50%. No one knows if the changes which now appear to be being made, were made back then if the club would still be in the EFL, but one thing is for sure the substantial amount of money lost through bad appointments would not have occurred and there is every chance that media revenue would have been substantially higher. Rather than those who just say this is a load of rubbish which didn't happen, I invite board members / ex board members who use this forum to come on here and that the above isn't true.

I would quite like to understand what all of this means / amounts to (in a non partisan way). But it's rather like hearing a synopsis of quarter of a story that took place over a long period of time. For example, I have no clear sense of what ManCom is or does or why we should (possibly) have had more of it. Any way of presenting the picture as a whole, in precis?

kpwinp, Totally agree with your comments. There's always at least two sides to a story and it's as clear as mud to me how the various allegations made translate into hard cash in terms of actual £sd. I assume ManCom is an abbreviation of the club's Management Committee. OS recently said "SM is putting together a wildcard side, it really could be anything, but it is very risky, especially with litterally no goals at this level in the team so far." Given that this is demonstrably and quite simply untrue (and not for the first time) www.suttonunited.net/news/2024/june/welcome-will-davies/ it might be advisable to take anything OS says with a large dose of salt.

I think there are 2 subjects here, I am not sure my assessment of the current team and past history of the clubs media department are associated?
As for the team it has bought in players with very little experience at National Prem level and with just a handful of goals at the same.
As regards media, yep there is a lot more to the media side of things over a long period of time, and for once I agree with MarkF, clearly our vision was rejected, but the feeling is one of frustration in having to watch us lose our EFL place.
The point has been made, and I want this team to do well.
- For the record I predicted last season that the side would struggle, and it did.

What do you mean you agree with me? Either you was turned down or you weren't. It's a statement of fact not a matter of opinion.
