On Saturday evening we welcome old foes FGR to Gander Green Lane. Forest Green are touted as one of the favourites to go back up along with Barnet. At the moment we are above both of them and if we can take 3 points we will be averaging the magic 2 points per game and create a 4 point gap. I think this League is wide open at the moment and would like to mention Gateshead take on Eastleigh at 3pm. As we know this is a televised game with a 5.30 kick off. We can showcase our attacking football to a wider audience.

Interesting game. FGR probably my favourites for the title as good old Vince throwing more and more money at it and can continue to do so with no window at this level. Gone a different route to us signing up experienced league players. They’ve signed 2 more highly rated strikers today. That said we’ll hopefully come out and throw everything at them. 3 points would keep the early momentum going nicely.

In one of those odd coincidences, we're home to FGR almost exactly a year after we last played them at GGL (2 September 2023), that undistinguished game finishing 1-0 to the visitors. Let's home for something better tomorrow.

Looking forward to the game and the kick off time screws up my weekend routine.
I'll go because I've got a season ticket but does anyone know how to view it on TV? Will it affect the attendance? I don't think so.

I don't think so. It’s on DAZN whatever that is. Seems plain bizarre having it on at exactly the same time as the best team in the country play on another channel. Can’t imagine viewing figures will be off the scale, probably more in the ground 😀

They’re planning on having NL on ppv??!! They’ll basically get the same figures as what the NLTV would with fans of the playing clubs not able to make it buying it. Very odd.

Gutted to concede so soon after levelling up the score, so like others have said, work to do defensively. A well taken goal though, but things for Matt to work on, and also still a long way to go.⚽️⚽️

Still learning as a team. Still a lot of work to be done on the training field. Hopefully will improve in time.

They came not to lose and we gave them the win. Very well organised side, but a draw was probably a fair result. 2 weak goals to give away especially the second. We move on..

I thought FGR were marginally the better team today. We conceded possession, especially in our own half, much too frequently and our final ball was often lacking. It seems the side has goals in it and the silver lining is we continued our record of scoring in every match.

Well I'm convinced their goalie handled outside the box as he played the ball upfield for their winner.
Anyway maybe it will give them a bit of a reality check. One thing is evident. We need at least one tall centre back. I remember a game a few years ago when we have four six footers in defence.
And will we be in trouble for Charlie Waller's no number shirt. Short numbers don't seem compulsory in the National League like in the Football League. Maybe they should be; what if two players or more had to wear unnumbered shirts?
Oh and the referee seemed OK to start with but seem to let things slide as the game went on.

Some good attacking play from us, particularly down the right wing where Jeremy Sivi was excellent, capping his performance with the equalising goal. And Finley Barbrook is now demonstrating his passing skills from central midfield.
Unfortunately, too often our final deliveries into their box were not quite accurate enough. And we were punished for two defensive lapses, the first after Harry Ransom had just come on for the injured Hayden Muller and nobody marked their centre forward Doidge from Tozer's long throw, the second when we failed to close down their attack in the closing minutes.
Steve Arnold's reflex save earlier in the second half also merits a mention.
First defeat of the season, and we're down to 8th. Both of these sides could well be in the top seven come May.
