Good enough performance to narrowly beat the bottom team, but winning play-offs will be a totally different concern. But good luck and hope you are lucky. I don't know about narrowly, even though we were hardly explosive Heybridge rarely troubled us and it really felt a question of if we could get 3 or 4 not through our brilliance more the fact they look a weak side. We did what we needed with other results doing us a favour and that's all that counts 3pts safely in the bag. Hamici's (who I have now nicknamed Hami) goal was typical of a confident inform striker tucking in from the narrowest of angles from the edge of the 18yrd box. Dundo whose control I thought was awful all afternoon combined well with Gavin to poke home the second, which was better than his 1st half effort which went out for a throw in on the halfway line :-) Matty Hann deserved a goal for his excellent strike after 5mins which came back off the crossbar and I am a little confused by the goal we had chalked off. In the good old days it was a clear offside but I thought under the new rules Gavin was onside and the lino kept his flag down too? Apart from one scare with 10 mins to go which they should of taken, I would of been quite happy to play them again next week. The playoff door is well and truly open for us, if we fail we will only have ourselves to blame!

Not much to add really, Heybridge were pretty poor and showed why they are bottom, but to be fair to them they look like they have a very young side, and I saw in them a lot of what we had last year - lacking in confidence, and lacking in depth. But also important that we took the points without Hughes, Westy, AJ, Jackson, Palmer. We certainly could have got more, again I doubted the ruling out of the potential 3rd goal, and Hann lovely strike could have been a goal of the season if it was a few inches lower.
These are the games we need to make sure we win - Both Bobbins and Dartford failed to get 3 points from teams near the bottom, and add to that Tonbridge defeat to Hornchurch, meant only us and Staines in the top 9 won today.
I echo OS - play offs are for the taking now

Sol was not suspended today, that was completed last week and I have written confirmation from Surrey FA to that effect.

Peace off Well, I'll have a pint of bitter then. Don't worry, your in good company I also call Arsenal the Scum. Yet they speak highly of you. Not. It's "you're" by the way. Ask Millsy, he will know. He may not reply now he is in such an exalted position ;D School boy error, now edited.

As others have said, this was a routine victory - but there haven't been many of those this season!
Heybridge are probably the weakest side we've met in the current Ryman Premier. They looked a better outfit at our place in October, but their squad has changed a bit since then. So, for that matter, has ours - good to see Hamici score on his debut (from what looked an almost impossibly narrow angle, though helped by the keeper going walkabout), and I thought McIntosh looked a more than capable stand-in for Hughesie.
This wasn't a bad game in which to try out some of the new players (with Chattaway and Patterson-Bohner both coming on as subs), but we might need to rely more on experience at Boreham Wood. Other results went our way today, and we're back up to 4th, but both Bobbins and Dartford are at home on Tuesday. We may have to win away again to stay above them.

Not bad report from the Heybridge website (here)although I thought that the ref had been verging on the 'whistle-happy' and seemed to award free-kicks to Heybridge for the slightest physical contact, ho hum! "Swifts youngsters were subjected to a barrage of elbows, pushes in the back and other offences liberally but the referee seemed to feel that these offences were not to be penalised"

"Swifts youngsters were subjected to a barrage of elbows, pushes in the back and other offences liberally but the referee seemed to feel that these offences were not to be penalised"I saw that and wondered just how many free kicks they wanted then? I reckon they had 20 in the 1st half anymore and the ball would never of been in play!

It's a man's game & they were predominantly boys. Ref did ok but too many fre-kicks for nought IMO. Odd decision to disallow Gav's effort, althouh I could se why he did it. I'm not sure that his interpretation of the current offside law was correct though.
Of te new boys I was impressed with Chattaway, Hamici scored a fine goal but los like he will need to adjust to the pace of the Ryman Prem. Makintosh did ok consiering he ha arly played this seaon.
A mention for Swifts no 5. He was called while on the golf course yesterday morning, hasn't played for 9 months & had a good game. They never stopped running & for once we didn't get kicked or elbowed off the Scraley Rd pitch, which, by the way, looked in great nick. The Green King was good in the bar too. All in all a nice trip.

After yesterday I really felt like we will be back in the Conference South at the first time of asking. Just can't see us not doing it now! Over confident perhaps! Well done lads.

Without putting a dampner on it, I'd agree if we beat Dover at their place, and stuff Dartford at home, but Heybridge were pretty poor! But hey, we've still got every chance ;D

Don't get carried away. I for one would love to see us back in the Connie South, but I cannot see past Staines at present. They looked a class outfit and easily dealt with us at their place. We would have to put in a blinder to get through the play offs, if in fact we make it. Here's hoping we do.

I agree.Staines will be a tough nut to crack.I'm hoping that we don't get to play them first and some other team knocks them out!
