To be honest, i think Staines are easing off a bit - they won't catch Dover, and are almost certainly sure of a mathematical play off place now - losing 4 all year I don't think they are too bothered about being home or away.
Lots of talk about Dartford, but both AFCH and Horsham are worth keeping an eye on - both are in a play off position winning their games in hand (although neither can overhaul us at the moment)
Oh and the Robins have failed to win in their last 6 games.....

My hope is that AFCH and Dartford take a pt a piece on Sat and we win, the form table is now agreeing that 66pts will be enough. The problem the sides below us have is putting together a run when they all going to be playing each other and although a draw or defeat does not knock ACFH or Dartford out of the playoff fight if we win against Wood but does leave one or both 7, 8 or even 9 pts from us which is the key calculation. Horsham don't have the same problems as they avoid most of these 6 pointers but just have to keep winning just to get back on terms. If we can just stick two results together now I am sure we can fall over the line.
And yes Taz I am thinking playoffs with Staines, they are leaking goals and if you take your foot off its very difficult to just put it back down again?

Oh and the Robins have failed to win in their last 6 games..... But there are children dying every day of treatable diseases; we could eradicate poverty given the wlll; AIDS monitoring is easy if we properly engage the Pharmas; the Mugabe government could be a thing of the past if the West had a spine; less reliance on sky fairies would help the Middle east; a strong NATO may have prevented some problems. Still, good to see your priortities are right.

All topics you would expect to see addressed on a football club message board, of course. Particularly on the Bobbins site, where football must be becoming a painful subject (again). At this rate, the result on April 13 will only be meaningful to the U's.

We're still playing good football, with Ide and Jolly banging 'em in - shame our defence is so porous. Anyway, you seem to be catching our home form disease - no wins in four? Limping home seems right for us both.

You are of course correct about all these very important issues, but I for one am bored of constantly discussing them over on the Ryman forum with the Kent Illuminati (as I'm sure are you), so it's nice to come here for a some light relief and to talk about football for a little while. PS. You smell.

I honestly hope the Robins can maintain a play off place I'm looking forward to the Easter game. I want it to be meaningful to both sides.

Having been in a play-off place for almost the entire season, the Bobbins are now in real danger of being overhauled by Dartford and Hornchurch during the run-in. However, they're still likely to be in the mix come Easter, so I would expect there to be more than local bragging rights at stake for both sides on 13th April. Just what we want to attract a bumper crowd to GGL!
Interestingly, we're also home to the Darts and the Urchins in April.
There's still a lot of football to be played before the season's over, and there are bound to be a few surprise results. So I'd be wary of making confident predictions - other than that Dover will finish 1st and Staines 2nd! What we might say about last night's results is that they slightly strengthen the likelihood of us finishing 4th.

That Ryman place can be quite depressing can't it? I think I can concur with your dislike of Tonbridge or more especially the ones that type dribble on that board. There's no need to resort to childish personal insults you lardy pile of poo.

Oi VotP, as you're online, what's all this about one of your players (I think it was Paul Honey, but it's a bit cryptic) being substituted the other night because he swore on the pitch?

Oi VotP, as you're online, what's all this about one of your players (I think it was Paul Honey, but it's a bit cryptic) being substituted the other night because he swore on the pitch? Cant actually help you there Gareth, I had work commitments and couldn't make it. However, I understand that there was a substitution made (believe it was PH). And there is this statement on our 'official' site: "In a recent game a CAFC player was substituted from the pitch for continued and excessive use of foul language. The substitution may not have been in the interests of winning the game, but it was in the greater interest of the Club itself and those spectators at the game. Such action has the full support of the club and the overwhelming majority of fans. Football is a passionate game - Passion and foul language are not connected in any way." Interesting. I wonder what constitutes an 'overwhelming majority'? Or indeed 'foul language', after all there is a swear box for mentioning your name (no, I don't mean 'Gareth'). All add to life's rich tapestry, eh?
