I don't think there's any famous places around that part of Russia to really point out. I'd say they're quite near (in Russian terms) to Volgograd which is somewhat famous for it's former life as Stalingrad. |

We're still alive, but no thanks to Chalmers driving!  In Atyrau in Kazakhstan at the mo. The people are just amazing. Just makes that Borat bollocks even more embarrassing TBH. BTW, we crossed the border at Astrakahn OoohAaah.  About 3000km to go of Kaz before we're back in Russia. Planning on hitting Aqtobe, then Astana, possibly Almaty, then Semey and out. Will try to keep the SMS updates and blogs coming when we can! |

I note Taz' comments re Borat. Slight loss of SOH by Taz here methinks. Does he really believe that we all considered that film to be a factual account of life in Khazakstahn or an accurate assessment of its population?
Travelling with Chalmers & Miller must be getting to him. LOL
