There seems to be little publicity regarding the first home game of the season The club/fans did great job with the Spurs game, however the Margate game has been (I feel) overlooked. Is it me or is the club missing out on one of the easiest ways of advertising games by not using the internet to its full potential?

Has no one told you tickets are going fast. Only the last few remaining.
Margate are bringing five coaches or was it fifteen or was it fifty.

from my own experience suggestions are always welcome. What should we be doing? Our website has to be one of the best at this level, we have twitter and a few fans groups on facebook.
This is not a stop moaning thread and i have no other interest than one of a fan.
Honestly the club is very open to suggestions - no matter how mad they are!

I hope my thread is not seen as a moan I fully appreciate the hard work that goes into running this great club. I don't want to knock anyone, trust me. I'm just keen - like all fans that we should publicise home games fully. If you go to the home page how easy is it to spot the next home game? It should be the first thing you notice. Next home game v Margate Saturday 15th August ko 3pm
Please bring a mate

Gatekeeper, Stop moaning, we're not going to get big crowds every week a la Notts County and Spurs X1, whatever marketing you think the club should do (would be interested in your thoughts). Turn up for Margate tomorrow, have a pint and smile!

Apparently, and I'm not the expert on this, the way our web-site is put together it is not easy to have a "banner-type" bit that changes regularly.
I'd guess though that any Sutton fan who uses our site knows we are at home on Saturday and the real challenge is how we spread the message more widely across the borough. All suggestions welcome.
As we know, the best way to boost the gate is to have a winning team. Fingers crossed !

Don't worry Gatekeeper. Me and my pals are literally wetting ourselves with excitement about Saturday's game and we'll be there in force.
I've written all of Sutton's fixtures on my calendars at home and work, and have also been showing all my colleagues my season ticket (which in itself is, I must admit, a bit underwhelming).
Don't worry, any quietness simply indicates a determined level of focus and concentration on the task at hand. We don't need to advertise because believe me, after we take our revenge on Margate by smashing them 24-0, there will be a queue all the way to the Ewell bypass to get in the next game.
C'mon the Us!

i'm not an expert on web design but i suppose a 'feed' from our twitter site could be possible.
As for the next home game bit, i tend to look at the fixture page anyway if in doubt.
I'm not saying you are wrong we do need people through the gates. We also need a constant revenue stream to add to our coffers. Knowing the problems and finding the solutions are vastly different!
Little things help, like the food, one dad i know lives near our friends down the road - but his son insists they come to sutton cos he likes our chips better! Thats only once a month for now but as he gets older it may change - as long as we have a team that he can enjoy watching!
If we can meet peoples expectations then they will come along. The atmosphere can help here, towards the end of last season it was the best i've known - partly because i joined in and felt part of it! Keep this going and people will come!
I would say any idea's are welcomed and do not be put off it they are not implemented there is a fine line between madness and genius - you con't be blamed if people get then mixed up!

Playing attractive attacking football should help and judging by the number of yellow shirts on display tuesday our attendances may actually be on the increase.
Personally i like the chips in the chinese shop across GGL and they always display our fixtures.

As for the next home game bit, i tend to look at the fixture page anyway if in doubt. I just looked at the official site and actually the next home fixture is right there at the top............ Shows how often I use that feature!

i'm not an expert on web design but i suppose a 'feed' from our twitter site could be possible. The website will be updated shortly for season 09/10 there are quite a lot of changes and additions to be made and Adam is working on implementing them as we speak. Once all the updates are done it is planned to design a new homepage and Twitter will be included. If you have any design ideas you are welcome to send them to me.

...and have also been showing all my colleagues my season ticket (which in itself is, I must admit, a bit underwhelming). Thanks very much Burtie. I thought putting a picture on the ticket would make the design better and somewhat different this year. Ha ha ha. I know, don't worry.
