lost track of time. But 2-0 gargan from fk.
Also margate had a massive penalty shout - no idea if valid or not but not given.

ok we are gonna love stefan payne! It's 4-0 and he has 3 of them.
One on one was dispatched with ease. Then a penalty tucked away with confidence.
Job done and taken off.

and thats it 4-0 could have been 6 or 7. We played well even before their fella was sent off but after that they had no hope.
Keep this up for the season and even i'll stop moaning my daughter made me spend £27 on her shirt! She is just four and bullies me.

Can't ask for a better opening start. To be honest we did win at a canter, against a side tipped for relegation. Even the sending off (after we were 2-0 up) didn't affect the score or the match. Margate simply had no answer for us today, we looked hungry for victory and bloody fast. Stefan was immense today, his finishing is clinical, Sam's freekick was great, and the team didn't have to work hard. It could have easily been a lot more.
I think our next couple of games will be more of a test for us, and the first 5 minutes today was a bit "headless chicken" but we settled very quickly and took total control.
Another notable today - we actually had a good ref today - he got virtually everything right although (and i'm no ref so i'll ask frakey) - the handball - is that a bookable offence for what he did?
There are enough experienced heads in the team and on the management side for us not to get carried away with today, but lets keep the momentum going through. For Margate I see a long hard season ahead but well done to all concerned today for Sutton - we really got off to a flyer!

I was trying to find some live scores near the end - wanted a chant of 'We are top of the league!'

As has been said we won without really breaking out of 1st gear today, they looked ponderous at the back and had no answer to our pace. They look like they would prefer physical Ariel battles and showed that in the fitst 10 but once we got the ball down there was only ever one winner. We look dangerous every time we go forward and in SP we could have ourselves a rival for RP top scorer. A word for Kevin in goal his distribution was the best I have seen from a Us goalkeeper for many years and although not called on to make many saves today he played his part in lots of our attacks today.
We started out degree course today and passed the first test with something to spare, but from now on the tests get more difficult and there are only 2 degrees up for grabs in our class of 22?
I think they could of been awarded a pen, sometimes you get them sometimes you dont!

They won't be too happy with the ref today but to get sent off for F&B language over a free-kick in the middle of the pitch is criminal. I think the 4 should have been booked for having the audacity to question the penalty decision. He punched it for ffs!
TBH, I thought we did well in patches & looked pacy in the opponents last third. There will be far stiffer tests than Margate proved to be this season but you an only beat what is in front of you & we did with some comfort.
Obviously Stef Payne was the stand out performance. Only 18 & just out of youth football? He was quality. Two excellent goals & a confidently despatched penalty. Sam Gargan's free kick was also excellent. Great to see the forwards scoring.
The team wored hard and did what they had to. We had a couply of dodgy moments at the back but were pretty solid throughout. I thought Bill Hawes had a good game but what about AJ Bray's double trick in the first half? Left backs 'aint meant to showboat like that! Brilliant!!
Ref had a good game today, despite what 'Gate fans may think & they need to look at the indiscipline of their no 7 for ending any doubts about the final score before ht.
Horsham will be difficult on Tuesday. Last season they played alot of footy and it looks like we will be too. Should be an interesting clash.

AJ's little run of tricks was brilliant, it was just a shame he couldn't add the curled shot into the top corner! Very pleased with today, i really like Gargan, the Joff comparisons are a fine compliment and he put the free-kick exactly where i wanted him to, i even called "goal" before he struck it As for Steffan, a perfect debut, really nice to see him getting a ball signed by all the squad in the bar afterwards too. Pace, composure, strikers arrogance. Gavin McCalum without the downsides Thought Goodliffe and Kez worked well together, two quality centre backs is what we have and Carshalton don't which could be the difference. Roll on Tuesday
