Not too sure if anyone's been to the ground before. I did a quick search for images while 'working hard' and came up with this. My German's somewhat sketchy to say the least and this is from a few years back but it ceratinly looks a touch tin pot! Oh, note the opposition. groundhopping.de/aveleyfc.htm

I went there last year when Mauritius Sports were groundsharing and it was every bit as awful as the photos suggest. Nice big club house though.

As Chairman of Aveley Football Club I'm sorry to see that you think our ground is an absolute, awful, tin pot hole ! I'm not sure what photos you are looking at but we are trying our best to make the ground better and hopefully (or not ) your players will enjoy the surface which is excellent.
As for you, the supporters, what I can say is that you will get a very warm welcome from us, although the gate man can be a tad miserable at times but aint they all. Our clubhouse will serve up most beers you would expect and the burger bar is small yes but the girls behind there are not only lovely but quite quick in what they do.....leave it !
Yes, at Aveley we are probably punching above our weight at the moment and it's still a little strange to see our name on Sky Sports News and have the likes of Sutton playing us. It's perhaps a little too soon for us. However, we are here, we deserve to be here and we'll give it our best shot while we are here.
Seriously, I hope you enjoy your day with us but the result does not go your way of course. I'll apologise in advance if you still think it's a sh1te hole after your visit, lets hope you don't have to come back in the Cup !
Cheers and have a safe trip over. George's Dad

If it's any consolation, I don't think the ground looks that bad!

George's Dad Hi Chairman of Aveley, Maybe speaking for myself here, but "tinpot" and "shithole" are not the same things - yes your ground does look tinpot, but then with the exception of Dartfords, so does every other club in the league, and that has a charm all in itself. I know that if I wanted not to be tinpot, I'd go hang around in the sanitised, sterile environment of the Premier League. No that, I much prefer trips to grounds with character, and looking at the pictures, your ground certainly has that, and i'm looking forward to my maiden visit! The fact you have come on here stating you'll give us a warm welcome has already endeared your club to me! Obviously i'm not going to say "here have 3 points" as well, but it sounds like it will be a good entry into the book of my Sutton supporting experiences. See you tomorrow for a cracking game
