I see this has been announced on the official site.
What about access to the bars for the visitors? Will they be allowed in (Times Sq Lounge perhaps) or is it a case of directing 'em to the Plough (or wherever)?
Just wondering. Might be worth letting 'em know to prevent annoyed people being turned away if it's the latter....

Is this really necessary? I know there's been a few issues over the last couple of seasons, Dos etc. But to segregate at a 1st round FA Trophy match, come on? Reading the Tonbridge forum most of their away fans seem to think they'll give it a miss, I'm not sure I blame them, not allowed in the bar, change ends at half time etc. By all accounts most of the problems have been caused by just a few knobheads. Interested to hear everyone else's views, as I think we should ask the club to leave things as normal. On the up side Vern, if they can't get in to the bar you could sell swigs from your hip flask!

This what Tonbridge Club Sec wrote on their forum after our match with them: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your support for the club regarding the incidents at the end of the game today. The behaviour of certain elementsof our fan base was quite frankly ridiculous, and the level of abuse aimed at me, the stewards, and the Sutton Management was totally unacceptable. I too agree that a certain amount of banter an acceptable part of football life, but todays behaviour as totally unacceptable. Perhaps the people responsible will take a long hard look at themselves, and think what harm that are doing to the club.
Charlie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
With this back drop if anything was to happen Sutton would be for the high jump, so yes its a sensible precaution.

Maybe we should offer a free stand transfer for their fans as an appeasement?

At last week's meet the Manager and Chairman evening, Bruce said that the decision to segregate was based on information that the club had received.
He didn't say what the information was or disclose its source, but the impression given was that the club would be unwise not to act on it.
I think we just have to trust the management committee's judgement on this one.

I am really sorry for any inconvenience this causes to Sutton fans and to the vast majority of Tonbridge supporters. It is something we have not needed to do before for this level of football and I hope we will never need to do it again. I don't want to go into details but with my H&S hat on I have to consider the legal position and do what is best for SUFC. Our actions have the support of the police and the FA.

I have just had a look at the Tonbridge Forum. They are not happy bunnies! Many are suggesting a boycott of the game and a donation of half the addmitance cost to Tonbridge to benefit them and cost us. Some are even wishing for a draw on Saturday so they can repay our hospitality at the replay. Lets hope we do a proper job on them on Saturday!

Their reaction to a replay would certainly be interesting.

They need to be less concerned with stoking trouble and take heed of what their club sec has to say. He is absolutly right in what he says.
Let them boycot the game, then there won't be any trouble and we can get on with the game in peace.

S'pose it's their choice if they boycott TBH, but a little OTT if I'm honest. The only annoyances about segregation is that you can't go in the bar and if it rains, you're on an open terrace. But like with Notts County last year, I'm sure letting 'em in the stand wouldn't be too much of a bind if it did piss down.
Apart from that, you've got bogs (two sets in fact), your own tea bar brought in and no queueing at turnstiles. It's not like we're charging 'em a fiver extra to get in or anything.
Ho hum.
