Just to finish off tonights results a incredible game at Ashford:
Hendon down to 10 men and 2-1 in injury time of extra time equalise and go on to win 9-8 on penalties.
Now thats pressure, I wonder if Hendonboy has gone grey?

Excellent all round team performance tonight but special mention of Billy Dunn who was superb all evening playing on the left wing.Clever flick from Sam Gargan for the first and a great cross from Billy for the second which left Bradley an easy knock in.The skipper got the third and we completely outplayed hastings tonight. Lets hope this good run continues.
Oh and if Vern had come tonight he could have got a drink on the terrace.

Thats 6 wins in the last 7 games for us now - most disappointing thing about tonight was not keeping a clean sheet. But otherwise, we just get better and better. Woods Garness and Dunn both started tonight for the first time in a long time, Pouton also started in midfield. Billy had his best game in a long time for Sutton and always looked dangerous, Bradley's goal was a total delight and he was happy as anything to notch one in, Goodliffe and Kes were awesome tonight, and we really played Hastings off the park - from the fans i heard tonight, they knew they were in an inflated position in the league, and one of the quotes I heard was "How did Walton only lose 1-0 to you" - even when they scored we were pretty well in control of the situation. Dos got sent off - reasons unclear, but from what I was hearing on the terraces, a total over reaction by the ref - what is it about refs at Hastings and odd sendings off? Good little half time dance from Frakey too Job done and this team is really coming together - I thought we could have a better side than last year, this little run is showing its coming of age well. Well done to all the boys tonight

I was not there as previously stated but it would seem clear that the midfield is finally clicking with comments like this from the Hastings Forum:
Well that was a reality check if we needed one!! well 1066 hope you were there cos we witnessed some football....shame it was from the opposition!!! They totally deserved the 3-1 win, played us off the park at times...they were just so professional in their approach.
Our aimless balls into the final third were gobbled up constantly by the centre halves, their midfield passed and moved, ours passed and stood still. Then the communication between keeper and defence goes on the blink!!
Is Poulton the key to the door???

Excellent performance tonight against a side in form. Took 10 mins to find our feet and settle, then from about 20 mins in I'd say we pretty much dominated the game.
Super first goal from Sam, lovely little backheel flick at the near post. Second was down to Billy Dunn & laid back accross for the completely unmarked Bradley WG to slot home. Third came from a corner that the 'keeper punched dreadfully and it dropped in the 6 yard box for the skipper to thump in.
Very pleasing to see us take the tempo from the last 30 on saturday and carry it in to today. So many good performances it would be unfair to pickout individuals, however it was good to see Billy Dunn back in the side causing lots of problems down the left.
We've got some momentum now, just need to start being a little bit more consistent with the performances.

Just got back after one of the best away trips for many a month! This was a disciplined performance, with the 4-5-1 formation again proving effective on our travels. Our back line kept the home forwards quiet for most of the evening. Sam was retained as our lone striker and duly opened the scoring from one of very few first half chances. But we showed that different players can slot into the system, with Billy D and Bradley starting in the wide positions and combining for the second goal. It was also pleasing that we got this match played tonight, while other teams were uninvolved in league action because of FA Cup replays. Although we've only climbed to 8th, with neither Wealdstone nor Canvey playing this week we're now just two points off 2nd place.

Now thats pressure, I wonder if Hendonboy has gone grey? Still got my normal hair colour, honest! I didn't actually go since Tuesday is club running night and I was during the first half, but by the time I got home and saw how things were going I'll admit to having kittens sitting here. Delighted with the result, the prize money and a chance to have a go at Woking... 18 years since we've played them, well before my time watching the club.

Didn't think I was going to be able to make it yesterday but glad to get along in the end. Some of our play in the last six or seven games made it look like we were heading for a performance and result like this. It was like Dartford at home except we got what we deserved last night.
Glad I didn't have to pick a man of the match as it would have been difficult. I agree with what others have said about individual performances but would also like to give a nod to Sam up front. Tireless running all evening and a lovely finish for the first goal.

Last night was a really excellent performance with the quality of the passing and movement especially pleasing. Best away display for some time IMO. Always a threat going forward, we displayed a lot of energy, were solid, well organised and inventive.
Every player in a Sutton shirt stepped to the plate; we just didn't allow an in-form Hastings team to get any sort of foothold in the match and the football we played, particularly in the second half, was just terrific. Onwards and upwards - there's more to come from this set of players!
