With the Stones sharing at Ashford (Kent!) this season, those nice people at Ryman League HQ have given us the worst possible fixture for a Tuesday night. I guess those of us going by train will be looking at cabs from Ashford International (and possibly back again - though see my request below). Even I draw the line at walking that one in the dark! I'd suggest those of us interested in minimising cost through taxi sharing meet at the station cab rank (I assume there is one!) at about 7.00. It would be appreciated if anybody who's driving and can offer a lift back as far as the station (at least!) could say so on this thread. (I've already lined up a possible such lift for me and a couple of others.)

I may be able to oblige with the return but won't know until the day. Can't help with getting there as I have engineered to be in Kent on business that day, well done me.

Hi,
At the moment, it looks very much like I will be making the journey by car. I will know for certain after the weekend and will post on here. If anybody needs a lift back to station (or even the carshalton/sutton area), I will be happy to help.

Ashford's last 2 home games have been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. With more rain forecast, don't hold your breath. We can but ope.

If the match goes ahead I should have one or maybe two spaces available if anyone requires a lift back to Sutton.

I do the Ashford run quite a bit and on a good day it can be done in about 40mins once you hit the M25 as its a easy run if not much traffic. Trouble is we are going in rush hour so Clackets can be tailed back between Jnc 6-5 can add 20mins. Don't forget to use either the middle or outside lane once you come through Clackets so you don't get stuck in the inside lane all continuing on the M25 and you just go straight on to the M26. The M20 might be slow until Maidstone so that can add another 15mins but once past there it should be a decent run to Ashford but expect to have to wait to get off the M20 as that roundabout is often jammed up.

Not doable from Egham it seems. So I'm giving it a miss. Not that it'll be on!

Amber...................my offer of a lift for you, Sarah & Nick back to the station is still ok......let's hope the game goes ahead now ! Thanks, Rambo. I expect we'll take you up on that offer! There's a train back to London from Ashford Intnl at 22.08. As a fall-back, there's another at 22.33 - but if we miss that it would be a long, bleak night! The weather forecast for the next couple of days isn't bad - so I think we can be optimistic about tomorrow night's game being on. (However, heavy rain is forecast for Thursday and Friday - so Saturday's trip to Bognor looks in some jeopardy.)

Here in deepest Kent we had 4hrs of torrential rain this morning.Hope their pitch drains well otherwise could be a bit iffy.
