Have to agree that the Watts/Gargan combo doesn't quite work. Not enough pace, for one thing (heavy pitch or no). Did also think, reluctantly, that the ball had gone out before the disallowed goal.
Most importantly, though ; get well soon A.J.!

The pitch was comical in parts though I realise a lot of effort was put in to make it playable at all. I don't think I've seen a worse pitch at our level and I've seen elsewhere it's been branded as 'the worst pitch in the Ryman'! It's a shame that we're in this position.

Indeed. Imagine what it would look like if we didn't have such brilliant, dedicated ground staff! It doesn't bear thinking about. Get well soon AJ...please...

It looks like AJ will be out for the rest of the season unfortunately so i hope Dos is able to get a left back on loan for the rest of the season.Pity we were unable to break Bognor down but as Frakey said Tim Bond was excellent.I'd still like to see Billy Dunn back in the squad as i believe he could make a difference.

I wouldn't be surprised if billy and jerson and the likes get a run out on Thursday in the ssc match, although there is a reserve game on Tuesday

Third time this season a struggling side has visited and we've failed miserably to break them down. Problem is, they're coming to us with a set game plan which is work hard, give nothing away. So it's down to US as the home side to set the tempo, down to US to get at them and put them under pressure.
Yet yesterday, the pace of the game barely got above a light jog. There just wasn't enough drive or inventiveness from us. Two points not earned in my book. Not dropped. We just flat out didn't do enough to force the result. Second half especially.
Hann ran the ball out. Whilst you could maybe argue it wasn't quite whole ball, it was still enough to bring a flag from the lino. His second touch was poor and it looked like the ball had got away from him.
Losing AJ is a huge blow. I hope he's back soon, but I doubt we'll see him again this season.......

Sutton United have won 7 (of 17) home league games.5 have been drawn and 5 have been lost and several games have ended 0 - 0 or with a single goal from Sutton.
Would it really be too much to ask of the powers that be to show a lot more attacking intent ? Or perhaps just a bit more than we are seeing ?
Why the constant need at home to play one or more "holding" players to protect the back four ? What do they need protecting from ? Bognor and other teams have shown no interest in getting men forward whatsoever.
Can the back four between them plus the goalkeeper not take care of one lone attacker ?

Its not like they were not trying Billy, we were missing BWG and FQ who have both made that difference in recent weeks. I am a believer in the theory if you don't concede then you don't lose and although there will be frustrating afternoons like yesterday it would see us comfortably into a place off place, a draw a win a draw etc will do the job just fine from here on in. We won't be playing the likes of WA or Bognor etc in the playoffs and our record against the top sides is impressive. Patience is a virtue, we are going up and Arsenal are going to win the premiership

I'd just like to see the odd goal now and again for my 13.50.Or even the odd goalmouth skirmish.
Or even a few Sutton players cross the halfway line in unison...........................

Er, we've not lost in 12 and lost just one in 16 and people are on here moaning! Yes, it wasn't great on Sat but the lads have played alot of footy recently and the team has picked up the inevitable injuries as a result.
As for Billy's comment about our home form, well as I've said before, that s just one half of the story 'cos our away form has been ok so far with nine wins.
This league may not be high on quality but it is highly competitive and teams aren't gonna come to GGL and just roll over. I'm sure the pitch does not help the way Dos wants us to play either. God knows what it will be like tomorrow night.

Sh.t game, joke officials. What was Dos sent off for? I think that had a big impact on morale. 10 mins later Hann and Gargan were arguing so much a Bognor player told them both to shut up! Proper gutted about AJ. I liked their keeper he was alright. Biggest credit on the day goes to the Rocks fans, all 12 of them, for 90 minutes of noise, fair play to them and good luck in the relegation battle.

I am with Frakey on this one. Although not the best performance 1 defeat in 16 in impressive in almost any league.
Back before Christmas, inconsistency and the failure to put a couple of decent results together was the problem. Now we have put the run together and got ourselves in a decent position in the league so if we just just be a bit more clinical in and around goal, we should be OK.
Real shame about AJ. We will certainly miss him in the run in.

Apart from the one who shouted 'get him off' when AJ was down in agony !!!!

Wouldn't it be great if Sutton could draw all 42 games 0 - 0 and go unbeaten for the whole season.........................
