Two posts mentioning players negatively all year.
Constant sniping that...
foo me. We're meant to be adults here.
If you're a player who doesn't want to risk reading negative stuff about you, then don't read the forums because at some point somebody will have a go at you.
And if you do read them then at least have the sense to choose to disregard the opinion of somebody whose footballing career amounts to a few games for Sutton Grammar Wednesday 4ths...

I find Vern's comments interesting in that by questioning the ability of some of the Dos signings is overstepping the mark.If that were the case then there wouldn't be a revolving door! This is meant to be a forum for discussion and not a sycophantic notice board.

I didn't really want to get involved this but if it makes people feel better by venting a splein on here as opposed to during a game then great; unfortunalely it does have a negative as players do read this and if you think about it subjectively, would it have a positive effect on you? Spot on. Have a go at a player's performance on the day by all means. But constant bitchy snipes at players' overall abilities and you are overstepping the mark and questioning Dos. Personally I see things the other way round Vern. If a player's not having a great game, they probably don't need people having a go at them. We might have our own opinion on whether a player should be in the team or not, but once they're out on the pitch, surely we should give them support and encouragement? If they're having a bad game, then I don't think that shouting "Awwww, c'mon <insert player's name here>, for f*ck's sake!" will have a positive effect. But it's something that a noticeable amount of Sutton fans seem pretty insistent on doing.

Players get as frustrated as fans, I'm sure Watts and Danny exchanged a couple of words and I know full well Kes showed is displeasure to James not long after he had come on. It is all part of football and some people will complain when a player makes the wrong decisions or plays badly, others will shout encouragement and even more will stay silent. IF players are going to come on here and read posts they need to understand this is place where people who have paid good money to watch the game will sometimes vent, they will also praise and other times they will just talk sh*t. This is a place for the fans.

Have you never been told you shouldn't bottle up feelings? Forums are like a pub, where anyone can listen and it is up to them if they want to, but they may hear something they don't like, but it wasn't meant for their ears.

This is meant to be a forum for discussion and not a sycophantic notice board. As far as I am concerned as one of the Mods there is nothing in this thread that is 'overstepping the mark' in terms of forum rules. Anyone is entitled to come on here and say they don't rate a particular player, I do think that personal comments towards a player would be, however there are no such comments on this thread. The argument as to whether you should berate a player on here is also a valid debate!
