Tonight's game was a real tonic after the Easter results. We played some lovely football, particularly in the second half, and all six goals were beautifully finished.
We were so good going forward after half time that we could afford a makeshift defence of Kes and Billy Hawes in the centre with Stuart Young and Anthony Joseph in the full back positions (though playing more like wing backs for much of the time).
As has been said, CA played very much a second XI while we included a sprinkling of first team regulars, and the difference showed. But the experience will have given the younger players some confidence. I thought Daniel Harding had a great game playing alongside Charlie Taylor, with both scoring twice. Bradley W-G also got a brace, and his first (to make it 2-0 at h-t) was perhaps the pick of the goals.

Thanks Meddles. did croydon turn up tonight.... 9 of them are trialists Trialists can't play in the SSC! They would need to have been registered players 14 days before the original date of the tie. Reserves more likely.

The official website calls Daniel Harding 'Daniel "DJ Vivid" Harding'. Erm?

Apparently its mainly stiffs for the home team as they won a league game 6-0 last night! Hmm...

Entertaining game. Greek spent the day badgering me to go and in the end I caved in. They played mostly youngsters and ressies, although several of our lot (Gold, Jerson, Smith)had played 75-120mins the night before in the Surrey Prem cup final. First half was tight, but we had chances to be 2-3 clear at the break, but only had a smart finish from Dan Harding to show for our efforts. 2nd half, different story. Seems Dos decided to simply go all out on the attack and it worked. Last 30 mins were simply 1 way traffic and the pace & movement of the 4 lads up top just ripped them to bits. Ok, it was only their seconds & kids, but game was played in good spirit, some nice stuff played and a few goals. Now only Badshot Lea stand between us and an afternoon getting drunk by the Thames....er I mean, a cup final.

Any idea when the semi-final against Badshot could be?
