I really REALLY wish people would stop referring to some of the England side as 'world class' when they quite frankly aren't. Someone like Zidane was world class. Gerrard & Lampard are not.
John Terry? World class? Only if you were to add the word 'Tosser' to that phrase.....

Definition of World Class at this moment: Name a player who would get picked in the Spain starting XI.

Gee I'm glad we have Mr Capello in charge and not some of you lot!
First of all even though I cannot stand Cashley it is the majority of numerous pundits opinion that he is the best LB in the world. Therefore he gets in Spain's XI along with Rooney.
I've been listening to a number of overseas journalists and foreign ex players over the last few days and virtually all of them have England as one of the favourites. I for one am confident that we will win the WC (with the proviso that our star players stay fit/don't get sent off).
Gerrard is class and has carried Liverpool for too long. Lampard is also very good but also plays for a club that is a hell of a lot better than Liverpool. Lampard does score a lot of goals but a fair few come from pens (although he's missed the last 2 I think which is worrying).
I don't think we should be critical of our players yet, let's wait and see what they do and if the fail dismally then it should be open season.
Capello has picked a good squad that can adapt to different situations and i for one am very excitied about our prospects.
So come on ENGLAND you can do it.

I fancy the Dutch too. Qualified strongly, will have great support in SA with their historical links & have been in good form recently. Losing Robben may be a concern though.

All - can you answer a question for me?
Player gets booked in thematch - yellow card
Game goes to penalties
Player takes a penalty but feints - referee orders a retake and player gets booked - sending off
Who retakes the penalty or is it forfeited as missed?
No one seems to know the answer

Hubble, the penalty would be retaken by the next player. The side with more players would select a player to 'drop out' to even the numbers. I think!

Hadn't thought of the player dropping out, good shout. Defo think penalty would be retaken.
