According to the Daily Mail, Charlton have accepted a 1.5million bid for Nick. The deal looks likely to be completed by next week.

I believe we get 5% for having him on contract as a developing player under 21 which would equate to £75000.I'm sure i'll be corrected if i'm wrong! I don't know whether Barnet would gain again.

Surely we only get 5% of whatever Barnet receive, which would equate to roughly a bag of chips and a clip round the earhole?

Why would Barnet get anything? I believe our payment would be due to a clause in the Bosman ruling.

I believe we get a 5% share of whatever Barnet receive from their deal with Charlton as Barnet are the club we had the agreement with, so don't get 5% of every transfer he makes.

As far as i know its not to with our deal with Barnet. Its to do with producing a young player and we get 5% of future transfers.Perhaps Co Sec. can confirm or deny.

Just to clarify from the last time this came up:

Actually, we would only get a cut of Barnet's cut so we do not want Nicky to move on (unless the fee is significantly over 1 million). We need him to play in every game for Southend until Christmas

Following on from that you yourself said we would probably get 5% of what Southend get!

Sadly, our cut of Barnet's cut of Southend's cut (if they have a sell on clause with Charlton) will probably not even cover Taz's bar tab

Yeah it's not good is it. The figure mooted is £1,400,000. If Barnet get 5% that's £70,000. If Southend get 5% that's only £3,500. We're also in for a cheeky 5% and that's a somewhat upsetting £175.
Either way, good luck Nicky.

If the figure dreamt up by Rax is correct, with my current level of practice a £175 bar tab would probably kill me.
