I bought the non-league paper on a rare occasion yesterday - upon reading the match report from Salisbury’s cup win I noticed a few familiar names, Dan Fitchett, Kevin Amankwaah and Shaq Hippolyte-Patrick all featuring for them with Ricky Wellard an unused sub. The game was on the BBC red button on Saturday. Kevin scored the third goal for Salisbury.

Chris Dickson scored yet again for the Urchins in their 6-0 demolition of Kempston Rovers over the weekend. By my reckoning that's 7 goals in 7 games now.

And Dan Wishart scored for Maidstone. Apparently their top goalscorer. Maybe we could try for him again.

George McLennan signs for Wealdstone. Poor chap broke his ankle in the first 10 minutes in his debut v H&W. I really feel for the guy. Really nice bloke, with a career beset by misfortune. Hopefully he will bounce back from this because he's a talented young player with a promising future in the game. Would love to see him play for us again at some point.

I know James Bracken is still at the helm of Corinthian Casuals but there still seems to be a heavy ex-Sutton contingent in their squad. They lost 2-1 at home to Horsham last night with Jack Strange, Kevant Serbony and one Oliver Sitch all starting - I seem to remember Sitch in particular being highly thought of down here at one point! Emmanuel Agboola played in goal - he featured in our pre-season friendly at Tonbridge back in July. Ben Checklit and Reyon Dillon were both on the bench for Casuals last night and previously on Sutton’s books.

He wasn't suspended by the club, he was suspended by the FA. Three years ago, no less.

I didn’t realise ex-Us centre half John Mackie is assistant manager at Potters Bar Town these days - they face Barnet tonight in their cup replay. Mackie played for Sutton at the beginning of the 99/00 Conference season before sustaining a season-ending injury, he later played for Reading and Orient in the Football League.
