If you’re not travelling away on October 1st you can always go and watch the FA Cup tie between Carshalton Athletic and Havant & Waterlooville - packed with ex-Sutton, both on the pitch and in the dugouts!

Obviously a theme yesterday for ex-Sutton players. Gime Toure was sent off for Yeovil and Roarie Deacon for Maidstone. On a more positive note Louie Theophanous, who did play for us for a while although he's better remembered for time at Staines and Bromley among others, scored twice for Beckenham in their FA Cup win over Binfield that put them in the 4th qualifying round for the first time ever.

There were a few familiar faces yesterday at Colston Avenue, both on and off the pitch, for Carshalton v Havant & W in the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Cup. The Robins' line-up included Danny Bracken in goal and Crossley Lema and Bradley Pearce in the back line. The Hawks had Ross Worner in goal and Joash Nembhard in midfield, with Jamie Collins coming off the bench late in the game. And, of course, the two managers were Steve McKimm and Paul Doswell.
Carshalton began the match strongly but were let down by poor finishing. Havant and W's higher status then told as a goal in each half saw them through 2-0.

Binfield have just appointed Garry Haylock as manager. He made a handful of appearances for Sutton during 2004/5 season.

Andy Scott was sacked this week from his post of Head of Scouting for Nottingham Forest. Oh dear. Was he to blame for signing 23 new players?

Tommy Wright, playing his first match of the season following injury, red carded at the final whistle for over zealous protestation.
Reading the report, I doubt Dos was too complimentary about the ref.

Tommy Wright, playing his first match of the season following injury, red carded at the final whistle for over zealous protestation. Reading the report, I doubt Dos was too complimentary about the ref. Their title rivals Ebbsfleet failed to win at home against a Welling side down to 9 men. The first sending off for Welling was a certain Stefan Payne.
