I know it's only Monday, but I'm excited so we might as well start planning now!! ;D
A few of us will be meeting in the Liberty Bounds (Wetherspoons) by Tower Hill station around 10.30 on Saturday
Aiming to get the 12.55 train from Fenchurch Street to Benfleet which should give us ample time to cab it onto the Island to the ground and survey Concord's licensed facilities before the game ;D
Let's start the season in style on and off the pitch!!

What could possibly go wrong? The District and Circle Lines! No service through Tower Hill all weekend, thanks to ongoing engineering work. However...for those who don't mind a bit of a walk ( ;D), getting to the pub should be no great hardship.

We always do that anyway. A cafe has been located on the route too. So it's a nice stroll over the thames with a cuppa and a bacon roll.
Lovely.

I can see that Dos will be very proud of you lot on Saturday ;D Hopefully you will do the business and help get us 3 points. I just hope I don't get stuck sitting next to some Essex "types" calling us the Chelsea of the Ryman League. Oh no I forgot that's what AFCHx think.

I'm only about 50/50 for this game - but just in case does anyone know what colour we will be in?

Correct that we'll be playing in white, however it's because Concord play in Yellow, not blue.
Here's a teaser. Wonder when the last time we started the season in our change colours was?

Here's a teaser. Wonder when the last time we started the season in our change colours was? Braintree away in the (2nd?) Conf South season I think. It rained. Lots.

We started the 2007/08 season at Basingstoke and played in white and green stripes. We also started the 2008/09 season at Harlow in white, but that wasn't officially an away kit.

John Scarborough scored v Braintree.
Argh Basingstoke away, that was shocking Carl Gibbs getting the winner and having a last minute equaliser ruled out. Horrid start to a nightmare season let's hope things begin different on Saturday.

I missed most of 05/06 and all of 06/07 seasons. Thank goodness I did. I think I can be excused to have missed the shirts we played in at Basingstoke and Harlow. ;D

You got to laugh I got a call yesterday from our Commercial director telling me that our new away shirts (with my logo) may not be ready for Saturday, and confirming that Concord did in deed play in Blue? However after checking it is clear that they actually borrow Canvey's Yellow and Blue kit when they are not looking On another issue I have seen that sponsor ASPECT before somewhere?
