I always buy a programme if possible. In fact I get really annoyed on the rare occasions when I can't get one.

I think Sarah's blog should go in the programme - long before it is seen on the internet. The internet is worldwide and keeps people up to date around the world, it is also a advert for the club open 24hrs a day. The website also pulls in paid for advertising which may go some way in offsetting the programme losses. Thats not to say we should not all buy them we should (I do). Maybe we could find a way tp enhance one with the other?

Do you really think you are selling more but cutting the price by 50p? I would have thought that people who buy a programme would still do so if it cost £2.50. Which would mean you would already be making a profit from your current average of 150 sales.

Probably not, because it's smaller than last season (page wise).
I don't have a list of bio's just a database of those who have played for U's since 1921 (some gaps, though) a memory for names, a keen eye on seeing recognisable names in publications such as the nlp.
I am, after all, the SUFC anorak. Well, along with Pressec.

Perhaps do what Lowestoft did in their programme: getting an oppo fan to write a bit about how things are with the club and where it's going etc.

The league rule says a club (I know that's not the same as it's supporters) MUST send history and profiles, etc and at least four have failed that simple task this year so far.

I think Sarah's blog should go in the programme - long before it is seen on the internet. That would work if we had perfect alternation of home and away games, but we don't! So there might be weeks where we've just had 2 or 3 consecutive away games pile up, and others where we get 2 or more home games in a row so there'd be nothing for me to write about. Plus it would be pretty much impossible for me to get a midweek away writeup done in time for that Saturday's programme. Nice idea, though! I could do an update for each programme with how many miles I've done and how much money has been pledged - would be nice to encourage even more generous souls to cough up ;D what do people think?

I have the same problem in our league. The hellenic league website has club downloads for programmes which must be updated. Good idea IMHO!

I see they report an initiative by Carlisle United of producing a reduced programme for £1, which has increasd penetration to 20% of attendance. Given that we average 152 sold for average crowds of 667 (23%), it seems that in non-league, we do value programmes more highly.

I buy a programme as I believe it helps my club. I'm not so sure fans who follow pro teams have the same loyalty to their football club. I would be happy with just a team sheet.

I don't buy a prog anymore simply as I have a small place and the amount of clutter was getting ridiculous. Plus the small bit of loft space I do have is already half full of the bloody things.
Still, my £2 goes over the bar, so......
