Much more perspiration than inspiration on a freezing evening in Tolworth. Sutton have now played 340 minutes of football without scoring. Casuals' tactics were to defend in numbers and try to hit us on the break. We laboured to find a clear sight of goal while Scrivs had to make several saves including a remarkable triple stop late in the second half. Craig Watkins fluffed two chances from almost point blank range, while sub Harry Ottaway looked our most likely source of a goal but couldn't find the target - although we probably should have had a penalty after he was floored in the box. And so to the shoot-out. Ex-U Bashiru Alimi put Casuals' opening penalty over the bar, but another ex-U Danny Bracken saved from Paul Telfer. Rents, Dundo and Stuart were all successful with their pens. At 3-3 Scrivs saved Casuals' fifth spot kick and it was left to Ronnel Dennis to convert the decisive penalty for Sutton.

Casuals miss penalty on 62mins - Scrivs saves Lots of possession for the U's but you've guessed it - little for the Casuals keeper to do! OS do you mean the goal-mouth scramble and triple save from Scriven? No idea what we were up to there but it came from a back pass I think.

I wasn't there simply quoting and reading between the lines of the casuals twitter feed. But even if I was on the moon with no internet connection the smoke signals from Earth would read 'we have a problem infront of goal' which is now getting urgent! Just looking at goals scored with the head: Now over 15hrs of football since Kyle scored our last one against Ramsgate and in the league you hyave to go back to TAFC on 6th OCT.

We must have had 70% of the possession yet only mustered a couple of shots at goal. It's not just that the forwards don't score, we just don't create enough chances. We can pass the ball around all match, but can't seem to find a man in space where it matters.

No match this season has better demonstrated our lack of fire power up front. Very strong starting line up but other than scrivs playing some sort of space invaders on ice and keeping them out with a triple salco bugger all to keep the cold out. Not only that but tea bar closed with what turned out to be more than an hour left. What we were doing from a succession of free kicks arsing about instead of having a shot at goal beats me. I will leave it at that I think and just hope we are back in league action on sat but that looks well doubtful from what I've seen.

Maybe it`s about time to start looking at the actual way we are playing. Possesion is fine and as they say "you can`t score if you haven`t got the ball" but build up play is laboured. There seems to be no fizz or defence splitting pass. Everything is so predictable. We always always seem to be playing compressed football in one half of the pitch 11 v 7. Which for makes it very difficult for strikers in particular as there is no opportunity to create space or use any pace furthermore as soon as you receive the ball you are closed down straight away. For one striker to be off form, that happens, but for all strikers as well as midfield players to not be scoring I`d say there`s something more than just a lack of form or quality. No disrespect CC but they are not in there most purple patch and to not score a goal in 2hrs of open play speaks for itself. I cannot believe that all of the strikers have gone bad all at once. For me something more than the strikers needs attention

For me something more than the strikers needs attention Spot on. In my eyes a change of formation is required. 4-4-2, the three up top whilst are doing great in midfield are not creating or scoring enough. We are congesting the midfield which is allowing defences to sit back and two CB's to block off the forward. I'm in no doubt the formation we are playing can and will work but for back to basics for a few games for me. Who to play as the front two? I would probably use Ottaway who can certainly win the ball in the air and has good glose control and Marvin whilst Watkins gets his match fitness back, then push Marv out as a winger. The midfield is where I struggle to put together a 4. We seem to have quite a few players who play through the middle, who would all deserve to start. Just my thoughts.

You would not have enjoyed yourself! All that football for £8 and £4 for concessions how could anyone not have enjoyed themselves?

I'm halfway through editing the highlights and there is currently 1 shot (From Tommy Kavanagh) before half-time.
I thought I may as well put this feature on here, as it was relevant to last season's game against the Casuals

We decided to try a half-time interview last night (Mainly because I couldn't be bothered to hang around after the game!)
