Harding:
Braintree Town chairman Lee Harding is standing by his actions after posting criticism of manager George Borg's results so far this season on the club's message board. Harding said in response to Borg's accusation of unwanted and unnecessary criticism: "The statement put on the message board is accurate. "George was given a substantial increase of £1,000 on his budget this season. "But we stand or fall by our results and we've only won two games in 13 so far. "George himself volunteered to turn things around in the last two games. "He hasn't done that and we're not just experiencing the worst little spell in his time at the club, this is the worst big spell and it has got to be put right. "Everything else is heading in the right direction at Braintree Town Football Club, except the first team's results." Harding also hit back at Borg's claim that players won't come to Braintree because it's not a glamour club. He pointed out: "The manager has never had that problem over the last two years. "And we've recently shelled out £1,500 on midfielder Mickey Shinn from Heybridge, following the club record-breaking transfer fee of £7,500 on summer signing, striker Leon Archer - two players he said he wanted. "We've reached the frustrating position where George is actually not talking to us now. "There are only five clubs lower than us in the table and two of those managers have already lost their jobs. "He says he expects and is looking for more backing - that backing has to be earned and if I was George I would be working very hard right now to save my job."
Borg:
Angry Braintree Town boss George Borg is in the mood to go to war. And the colourful Cressing Road manager has no plans to take any prisoners. Borg is coming under increasing fire from the Blue Square South club's board of directors and fans following a disastrous run of five successive league and cup defeats. But the larger than life Borg pulled no punches as he hit back at the criticism while preparing his squad for Saturday's bottom half of the table outing to Cambridge City. He told the Braintree and Witham Times: "I'm thoroughly hacked off with what is happening. "And I'm very disappointed by my chairman and directors. "Sure we've had a bad run, the worst in my three years as Braintree manager, but I expected more backing from them, instead they've chosen to air their views on the internet. "It's backing and support we all need now and things will only get worse if everyone keeps rocking the boat. "People show their true colours when things are not going well, but I know how I stand if I lose the next two games. "It's a testing time for us all, but I've not got to the stage of losing sleepless nights. "I've been a long time in football and if I leave Braintree it will be their loss not mine." Borg is livid at his chairman and directors telling his club's website that the club is failing despite the fact they have given the manager a big increase.' He said: "I'm amazed at their naivety and stupidity and if they think they can get the job done cheaper elsewhere then they're welcome to try. "When I first came to Cressing Road I had to rebuild a team and we won promotion and reached the Conference South play-offs last season. "The big increase they're talking about is £1,000 on top of the £3,500 budget for the previous season and most of that has gone on re-signing the players I've already got. "There is an old saying if you pay peanuts, you only get monkeys'. "I'm frustrated and very angry, but at the end of the day all I stand to lose is a football job. "I'm not dead and nor is my wife and family. "I've tried my hardest to bring in four or five new players this week, but the fans and the powers that be at Cressing Road have got to come to terms with the fact Braintree is not a glamour club." Iron travel to Cambridge City in Blue Square South on Saturday and Borg, who said he was hoping to have a couple of new faces for the clash, felt Cambridge are in a similar league situation to his team. "Like ourselves, they are lacking in confidence," he said

Not very dignified! You can't imagine Sutton's chairman and manager (whoever that may be) having a public slanging match like this. One reason why GB will never get a job at GGL.

It get's better!!
Goodbye from Oli Adedeji « Thread Started on Today at 7:54pm »
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oli has sadly asked me to pass this message to all the supporters of BTFC:
"Following the Board's decision to sack George from Braintree Town.it is with regret that I have decided to leave the Club. I have worked with George for the last ten years. I, together with a number of the players are very angry with the Board's decision and it is for this reason, that I no longer wish to play at the club. I would like to thank, you, the supporters and wish you the very best for the future."
Oli also mentioned that when he spoke to George today, that he would also like to thank all the supporters and said it was always a pleasure working with you all.
This is all only a few days after they'd announced plans for a brand new state of the art stadium

It would almost be worth the madness of the Borg to get Oli in at GGL

Resistance is futile. Somehow I cant help seeing all this fuss at other clubs turning out to be good for SUFC.
Keep your heads up Sutton....Its coming.

Doesn't this happen EVERYTIME Borg goes to a club. Do they not realise this? There really are some thick Boards out there (and probably Wooden ones to coin a phrase)

There really are some thick Boards out there (and probably Wooden ones to coin a phrase) As you know I get all the inside information and Hon Sec confirms that Borg now joins Rose on the short list along with these 2 fellas: I have have never seen them before in my life honest guv

Yes Millsy, he is the centre back. Best defender in this division I reckon next to the lad from Weston. I'd kill to get him in our side. I Also hear Leroy Griffiths is a free-agent now and turned out for Corinthian Casuals the other night. WTF is that all about???

Note to Mr Chairman: FFS HAVE A WORD WITH THOSE TWO!!!! I very much doubt we'd be able to get Adedeji but surely we'd have half a shout with old Leroy. I still have nightmares about that Grays game to this day.

With no manager in place, chances of getting them in would be next to zero without taking into account their wage requirements.

Reckon we can convince him that we're just like Casuals and don't pay a penny?
