A few people on this forum last week were talking about language and standards etc, so we had a quick think and are delighted to announce the launch on Saturday, for our game at home to Eastbourne Borough, of our new Family Enclosure.
The final section of the main stand, the end nearest to Collingwood Road, will be designated as the Family Enclosure. Admission will be restricted to adults accompanied by at least one under-16 and/or under-16s accompanied by at least one adult. Transfer to the enclosure will be free for under-16s.
We will ensure a steward is present all match to help ensure that standards of behaviour are appropriate but also to help everyone in the enclosure enjoy the match. Jenny Giraffe will come in and say hello before the game and we hope to have at least one player come up around kick-off to sign autographs and maybe pose for the occasional photograph.
The longer-term plan is to arrange a few extra treats for the younger supporters from time to time. We fully understand that the youngsters of today are the supporters of tomorrow and we are really keen to make sure that children and their families really enjoy their days out at The Lane.

Really, really good idea. Should see long term attendances rising now in the next 10 years or so. I'm think maybe having one of the younger supporters asking a few questions if they want to in the interviews I do would be a good idea to help them get more into the club. Meeting John Rains in 05 06 was one of the main reasons I came back again and I think allowing younger fans to speak to the manager, something that is just impossible to do in the Premier League, will really win new supporters over.

Good idea Johnnie, come and see me before the game on Saturday and we'll see how we can help you.

Nice idea, I did notice quite a lot of swearing, on Tuesday, primarily from the Welling followers
One thing, I tend to walk around the stadium during the game, will I still be ab;le to walk past the family section?

Another excellent idea from the club. I really don't think there are many clubs who whilst not shouting about it, really do listen to the ideas and suggestions of fans.

Kids were offered a sweet lolly as they entered the ground at Staines this season. If they were reasonable priced could we offer them to kids?

We hope to do different things at different games Stewart, but hopefully will be giving out sweets on Saturday in the enclosure.

Kids were offered a sweet lolly as they entered the ground at Staines this season. That was just to try and make up for the fact they charged £5 for juniors to get in!

To be honest i'm not sure if anyone will use this facility but its worth a try. Most kids like to wander around the ground.
