supercilious
Supercilious people think very highly of themselves, more highly than of others. Think of them as a "super silly ass," and you'll remember the basic sense of supercilious.

OS, you do need to think a bit before writing sometimes! I have nothing to hide and if anything needs further clarification I will give it. I would rather out the questions so they can be answered

Beer festival is a great idea. Hold it on a Saturday or Bank Hol mon home game, might result in a few drunk fans but would be lots of fun and certainly something that will bring in some funds! It would certainly keep me at the club for a few extra hours spending cash and its something i could probably entice a few non-fans to as well. As for a Valentines disco, please dont take offence but I cant think of many things worse. How about a regular boot fair in the summer or jumble sale/craft fair in the winter? How about a pre-match fifa competition on the xbox 360 to get the kids in?

I think an ale and cyder festival would be a great idea. I'm sure there's a few Sutton fans that like a good real ale or cyder (Amber Aleman being the obvious example). Maybe it could be linked with the Croydon and Sutton CAMRA branch to get extra publicity? Just a thought.

We will look into the idea. It will need careful research to ensure we have the right products of course and I have a feeling the research may take some time

OS, I bought tickets because I wanted to raise money for the two causes both of which are close to my heart. But I didn't actually go to the TSL because there was nobody I knew in there and because my boyfriend refused on account of being grumpy and hating the music. We stayed in the players' bar and put plenty of money over the bar ;D However, I think it's a mistake to assume that all or most of us have no social lives and some people might even be a tad offended by that If I've spent the entire afternoon at the club, I might want a change of scene in the evening. I might have other activities planned already. I did stay at the club because I wanted to support it but I reckon a Valentines disco might not appeal hugely to a group of people who are nearly all male and have known one another for years anyway! Andy makes a good point - it was a nice idea but why not do a bit of research to find out what we do want before arranging something without asking us and then being disappointed with us for not wanting it. You do a great job for the club and i admire your tireless work so don't let this put you off. PS House and garage was what some people listened to when I was a teenager, um, some time ago now As people know I'm into my Bus Die-cast Sutton Models. So I'd definitely be up for a BDSM night. LOL. You rascal.

Here is the beginning of a recent newspaper column which reminded me of Amber Planet for some reason !
The concept of charity has changed over the years. It’s not just about giving time or money any more. Quite often it’s about giving ourselves a slap on the back, too.
Many believe they have done their good deed for the day when they pull to the side of the road to let an ambulance pass. They are even vaguely irritated when nobody is there to see their act of generosity.
Obviously, I’m all for charity myself, unless some Home County hippies choose it as the name for their daughter. I do a lot of work for charity, in fact, although I don’t like to talk about it.
