Epic game. Two nil up. Three two down. Won four three and a pen saved in the process. Football? Bloody hell! As someone once said.

Utter joy was on every Sutton fans face as they left the ground. It is a pity so many missed this epic game. Graig Dundas was superb tonight he is so much better further up the pitch. Looking forward to Saturday already

Who needs Manu v Real M. A better crowd than I expected were given 96 mins of excellent entertainment. It really makes a diffeence to play on a decent surface & save for that problem corner the pitch looked excellent once again. And what a game. U's should have been out of site by ht but edged 2-0 in front early in the second half with Dundo's second of the game. Bromley got a goal back when our defence went missing & then bang, bang 3-2 with 2 good goals, their second being an excellent strike. Then skip scored his first competitive goal for the club, Rentsy saw his penalty well saved after a possibly dubious award (my view was partially obscured) before Harry B, who had a minute early put a decent chance over the bar crashed a shot into the roof of the net from close range. Golberg didn't look happy after but can he seriously think the best team over the 90 didn't win? On the down side SD picked up his 10th yelow of the season and faces a 2 match ban. I have no complaints about our 2 yellows but once again the ref who had uneven night (didn't spoil the match though) was inconsistent with his cards. Rentsy received an unnecessary high boot in the face in the first half & skip got a flailng arm in the face in the second. The ref didn't even chat to them. A great match, with the team responding well to sat's disapointment & showing great character to come back after seeing a 2-0 lead wiped out in 10 mins. I would have been gutted to draw tonight let alone lose!! Well done again to all. ;D

Wow, what a game. What should have been an entertaining but comfortable 2 or 3 goal win became an epic goal fest, up there with any game Ive seen at GGL. Firstly, well done to all involved for putting on such a show.
We dominated for 80 mins and were miles the better side, I think Bromley got 3 goals from a total of 3 chances, while we had so many I couldnt count them all. Superb first half display and after the 2nd goal early in the 2nd half it seemed a matter of how many we could score. Ive played in one or two games where a two goal lead vanishes and it really feels like there is nothing you can do, its like an unstoppable force. Well done to the lads for regrouping and getting what was a fully deserved win.
It was almost a carbon copy of the Basingstoke game but with a ref who allowed it to flow instead of blowing up every 30 seconds. Let me say I thought the ref was excellent throughout, but was let down by some poor linesmen. All the dodgy decisions came from the lino's flag, and while I couldnt say much about the first Bromley goal from my position other than it must have been close, for the 2nd Downer clearly got a touch to the ball and it was never a free kick. You cant blame the ref for that as he had to go with his assistant, but I dont know how the lino missed the touch.
As for the pen, its one of those rare occasions where the taker was not to blame for the miss. He hit it hard and low into the corner and it really was a stunning save from the keeper. Penalties have been a problem for years but I think Rents should keep taking them.
And what a finale to the game! At 3-2 and 3-3 one sensed there would be another twist or two, but after the penalty miss it looked like Bromley would get an ill deserved draw. Then with almost the last kick Beautyman atones for two poorly hit shots by smashing the ball high into the roof of the net. The reaction of the Bromley players said it all as they slumped to the ground!
All in all a game that will live long in the memory, whether or not we get into the top 5. It does again highlight some worrying frailties, but also shows again some real mental fortitude.

Interesting point on Simon's yellow Mr Bfish, however, these days, getting a touch on the ball isn't the only thing. If you're not in contol of the challenge and you end up taking out the oppo as well then a free-kick is given and sometimes a yellow as in this case. I was a long way from the challenge but it didn't look great!

A few pics: Wayne enjoying a shoulder massage from Catherine: 1-0, Dundo watches his volley go in: 2-0, Craig heads us into a two goal lead: 3-3, Jamie Stuart chooses a great moment to score his first U's league goal: 4-3, Harry Beautyman strikes late on to take all 3 points: The skipper celebrates the win:

I would agree Markf that it was indeed a robust challenge but Downer is an extremely talented defender and I feel he timed it right and got the ball just before the man. Im pretty sure Dos will tie up that one for us as he tends to have a camera near to that exact spot! As for the pen, i thought it was a fairly clear impedance of HB as he was about to strike and the ref got it spot on.

This match was reminiscent of the one against Welling last season when we also came back from 3-2 down in the second half to prevail 4-3 with a very late winner (on that occasion from Simon Downer). Bromley aren't as strong a side as Welling, but it did look for a while as if we'd thrown the match away thanks to that careless fifteen minute spell in which we went from comfortably leading 2-0 to trailing 3-2. We were then able to find an extra gear and the pressure paid off with a third goal and the penalty award. After Sam's spot kick was saved it looked as if we'd have to settle for a point, but we continued to force corners, with Tom Jordan thrown on up front, and Harry B popped up with the decisive goal deep into stoppage time. A lesson in not giving up. In the celebrations that followed by phone fell out of my pocket and smashed on the tarmac. But I didn't even mind too much (and it is insured). So that's our second league double of the season (following Eastbourne) and we're back up to tenth. Keep the faith!

Certainly secures our league status for next season short of something catastrophic. Good win, seems our home and away form have switched round from the start of the year! Much uptake from the locals on residency day? Guess it turned out not ideal timing with the champions league game??

In the celebrations that followed by phone fell out of my pocket and smashed on the tarmac. But I didn't even mind too much (and it is insured). That makes two of us then! Only difference being that I didn't mind not because of insurance but the result! Penalty was nailed on - very clear (and needless) shove by Helge Orome, right in front of the referee.

What do you say after a game like that? We were the far better side and should never have been in the position to need to dig ourselves out of a hole. But once in the hole the team were superb in getting the shovels to take what was a well deserved and hard won 3pts. We had the cameras in the usual positions so we can look to see if the 1st Bromley goal was offside as many felt and at SD's challenge. I was too far away from either to make a judgement. I am not sure why Bromley were so unhappy with the ref as I don't think he did a lot wrong? First 20mins was quite drab with neither side doing much but after that it was U's in the ascendency and Dundo's goal a reward for persistence. I thought we stated the 2nd half in total control and thought once Dundo had got his second we would run out easy winners. There then followed 5 mins of madness and blind panic which resulted in the only 3 efforts Bromley had all night hitting the back of the net. We then went back to what we had been doing which was causing them all sorts of problems on the right and found both the determination and quality to get the win. Great match for the residents not so good for my ticker Dundo MOTM - and as I was saying on Saturday at half time stick Dundo up there and he will score goals.

Much better from the lads, apart from some absent defending. Should have been out of sight in the first half, we really need to take our chances!!! What was better about this than Saturday? Almost everything, almost. Very good attacking play, hard work rate in the midfield and some good passing saw Bromley a clear second best for most of the game. Then our defense seemed to think they were back at Havant and we were behind to a team that had done nothing (not the first time this season). But we had one key thing Saturday lacked, spirit. Where our skill and speed got us 2-0 up, it was the shear blunt instrument of will that won us the game and recovered what could have been a very embarrassing situation. Why oh why could we not have shown that Saturday???
Still, 3 points in the bag and a thrilling game to watch. Good job Dad's pacemaker's working well!
