Leeds and Carnegie college Prestwich Heys - which was akin to a ploughed field Ford Sports Daventry Noisy Le Sec - I think we were billed as an English second division side Kbb Prestwich was a week before our Leeds match.I don't think the team were up for it. The Ford Sports match was the windiest I have ever known  |

.....Bournemouth (76) Crystal Palace SSC mid 50's I think. I recall playing 2 charity matches at Selhurst against Palace, winning 4-0 in 1985 and losing 2-3 in 1986. We also had an away tie in the SSC in 1994, but it was played at Sutton. We also played Leytonstone at Selhurst in the Amateur Cup semi in 1968 (with the replay at Brentford). |

I was at that game, a "last gasp" equaliser from Francis Vines earnt us a 2-2 draw when it really looked like we were going out ! We smashed them 3-0 in the replay. |

Topically - Vase SF's today - Spennymoor, although then United, not the re-formed Town. And Town look to be off to Wembley 39 years after we ended the United hopes with what was a shock Amateur Cup 3rd round win.

We smashed them 3-0 in the replay. I recall I was already in the bar drowning my sorrows when that equaliser went in. A Shocking performance up there, as has been mentioned in seriously windy conditions but we somehow sneaked a replay! |
