goalkeepers picking the ball up on one side of the goal , trudging slowly across to the other , placing the ball lovingly as if caring for a 6 month old child , tapping their boots on the goal frame , walking back and finally taking the kick..............how long will it be until one of them gets a mobile phone out and makes a call............

Yeah this is rather irksome. Can't blame the 'keeper though if the ref won't put a stop to it. All it'll take is a booking early doors and job done. Same goes for any time wasting really.

The ludicrous headgear of the Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech fractured his skull whilst playing against Reading a few years ago. He was kicked in the head by Stephen Hunt and, despite being concussed, was ordered to crawl off the pitch by referee Mike Reilly in order to receive treatment! He now wears protective headgear on medical advice. Just to clear that up

The problem is they never get booked early on.If they finally get booked late in the game it can actually give them a license to waste even more time , safe in the knowledge that they won't be sent off.

Judging by your comments, you are clearly unaware of the severity of the incident!

Match of the Day showing every goal at least four times (often five) and unremarkable bits of "action" three times.
