I wondered how long it would take for spectators in replica shirts to come up. Now you just need to mention about the queues for hot food!!
I agree with quite a few of your gripes about modern football but can't go with the players applauding spectators one. I have often travelled for hours at some expense to watch a game and if the players want to show a bit of appreciation for the support given to them during matches I can't see the problem. Even at home games, a show of thanks for the support is a good thing.
It would be much worse if they just trudged up the tunnel without any acknowledgement to the supporters.
One thing about modern football I dont like is Richard Keys

Although i'm well overweight i have never seen the point of tucking in to burger and chips at 3.45 in the afternoon or 8.30 at night. Not sure what meal/s they come under.

Thats what I meant about hot food. I seem to remember a thread a season or two back when replica shirts, people eating hot food at football and even rucksacks came under attack.
Keys is on talksport radio now and is as smug as he ever was on the tv.

What do people keep in those rucksacks ? They seem an odd shape for carrying stuff in.As if London is not crowded enough already you are dealing with these people everywhere you go.Why don't they ever take them off and put them om the floor.
I was glad to see the back of Keys and especially Andy Gray.He had started to use so many silly americanisms in his commentaries that you'd be forgiven for thinking you were watching baseball.

Speaking of inane commentaries , if you want to hear the worst example of all time watch the IPL and try and endure half an hour of Danny Morrison.

and i still don't know anywhere near as much as younger people who were still in nappies in the 1980's and first saw a game in the 1990's............. Age has nothing to do with how much you know, dear heart. That comes from a combination of paying attention, finding stuff out and simply using your noggin. The 1980s were thirty odd years ago and that is long enough for anyone to build up expertise on a subject, particularly if they study it pretty much constantly. Knowledge also comes from moving with the times. Just because you know how something was done 40 years ago (or in your case 150 years ago) doesn't make you an expert on the matter today.
