Highlights Sutton v Aldershot in our new player: Apologies for the 1st half but Terry was using our tripod for the 1st time and just like the team it took him until the 2nd half to get the hang of it - thank heavens we had the corner can for their 2nd goal

Excuse my ignorance, but I've just watched the highlights and they are 'jerky' all the way through. Do I have to download Television Fanatic to watch it properly?

As we said at he start of the friendlies, these are all practice matches for us and the highlights are a bonus. We still have a few issues to solve especially with software and video conversion, but we don't have the money to go and buy the equipment and software really needed to do this properly. We have 6 bob and a packet of crisps to turn the product out, .

I would like to see you do a better job I'm not complaining about the quality of the camera work, Stewart, but being able to play the highlights properly. I seem to be only getting every 5th or so frame. Has it got something to do with "our new player"? I'm still hoping that someone can answer my original question.

Fox, it sounds like more of an issue with your connection than the player. Are other websites/youtube video sluggish to load up?

Do others have a problem with it?

Better, much better !
I like the fact, you've got the SUFC tv logo in the top corner. Video footage is good, much crisper. Only suggestion would be perhaps to ditch the two footballs, and bring up the SUFC crest.
End product looks much better. Keep it up.
oh and it plays fine for me.

Just to let you know that the new player will feature a playlist giving access to all highlights and interviews on the single player and in one place, we will launch it shortly.
I am hoping that we will have a gantry over the rec side terrace for the start or very close too the season. This should improve things a lot as we will be higher up and it will give a better aspect of the pitch without heads in the way.

On first viewing, I had the same problem as Silverfox, it did appear to be jerky but touch wood, it seems to be playing fine now

Without being too technical, the jerky issue some of you are facing is due to something called "bandwidth" - it happens either when everyone is viewing the video at the same time and the server that it's on (which is probably quite unlikely due to the numbers probably viewing at the moment) or that the user (i.e. you!) has a temporary reduction in service - and regardless to what the adverts say, this can even effect BT Infinity - you may notice that some times are slower than others - early evenings for example when lots of people log on at the same time. Not too much you can do, but if you get a jerky view, close any open windows on your computer, or any services like messenger etc to free up as much speed as possible - this should improve things a little. Or load up the page and pause the video, go and make a cuppa, and then view it! For the geeks - if you really want to see how fast your connection is - www.speedtest.net - if your download speed is above 5 or 6M, you should be ok!

As Andy says Youtube is not fool proof and we wanted to use a system called Vimeo but in truth we can't afford it. Youtube does have the advantage of being viewable on all platforms and you can use the cog thingy to reduce quality which will reduce bandwith and should help those with slower connections.

I really appreciate the time, effort and money that has gone into the filming of home games, especially as I'm able to make it to so few nowadays. Great stuff!

You're not missing much with Vimeo mate - there's very little difference in terms of how they render the videos, but you are right, it's far too costly!
