I would like to think that these are being shared with Sutton (along similar lines to Sutton home friendly against Wimbledon).

I would like to think that these are being shared with Sutton (along similar lines to Sutton home friendly against Wimbledon). I'd say that's unlikely. That's usually a special arrangement between clubs. I think the crowd there will be so low that after expenses there would be very little money to share anyway!

No podcast from me for this one,the camera's being dodgy and I can't really be bothered for a friendly anyway. I reckon we should win in an exciting game, looking at scoring records from last season of teams and new players

And of course tomorrow we should see a few ex-Us - Elvis Hammond, Reece Jones and of course a favourite of ours, Mr Scriven

We had plenty of the ball but made few chances. The side need to play a lot better if they want to feature in the top half of the league this season. There were a few players missing so there is hope

Well, no idea what to make of that. Didn't hit the target once today and conceded a couple of goals, the second of which was a serious misjudgment.
No Ali, Marv or Slabs. We lacked cohesion and never really got going tbh.
Farnborough need to sort their pitch out big time - it is quite awful for this time of the year.

Pre-season form is rarely a reliable guide to what happens when the serious business starts, and we'll have to hope that's the case with us this year!
Today's match reminded me of some of our games last season when we failed to capitalise on early pressure then were architects of our own downfall. We did have the excuse that Slabbs and Marv were missing from the squad (let's hope they're fit for next Saturday), with Jamie T and Dundo starting up front. JT looked sharp, and we forced a shedload of corners in the first half, but still barely tested Kevin Scriven in the Farnborough goal.
In the second half we lost a bit of momentum, briefly revived when James Folkes came on for Dundo, then got hit by two goals in as many minutes. The first came from a quick break down our left, with the initial shot being blocked but Dave Tarpey scoring on the follow-up. The second looked like a dreadful error from Tom Lovelock as he failed to get the ball on the edge of his area leaving Tarpey to roll it into an unguarded net. The closest we came to scoring was when Dale Binns, from a tight angle, crashed a shot against the angle of post and bar.
Ho hum. At least we didn't pick up any new injuries.

First half we were in control of the game but couldn't really get anything worthwhile past a strong Farnborough defence. Binns, Taylor and Harry all looked lively though and surely we would take the game away from the home side in the 2nd half? But we just didn't fire at all after the break it was Farnborough who showed more urgency, pressed our midfield with their backs soaking up most of what was put before them. Yes we had players missing going forward and we did show some signs of what could be in that department with both Slabs and Marvs fit. But the big worry has to be the defence another 2 shipped today making 19 in 7 matches albeit against some good oppos but most going down to basic errors. No team can give the other side 2+ goals in games and expect to be winning.
I am convinced we need more cover at the back and if need be I would swap one of our attackers for a big strong right or center back?

There were a few players missing so there is hope Just read this on the Boro forum: I expected more from Sutton, and was quite dissapointed with them really, although it must be difficult when you are in the same League as your opponents, and meet each other fairly early on, not to show your hand as it were, so I reserve judgement until September!Maybe he is correct and the real test will be next Saturday.
