Last night's 4-0 win over Chipstead means that the club's Youth Team has now completed an entire span of 12 months without dropping a single point in league matches, which is truly remarkable. Manager James Bracken, coach Will Letts and the players all deserve enormous appreciation for what they have achieved.

I'd be very surprised if it isn't. Can't be that common anywhere at any level.

A great team coached by a great Coach. Hope to watch the latest team next week at Banstead. Rotten place to play but usually great football from the lads!

Whilst this is fantastic and everyone involved needs to be congratulated I can't help thinking that the players are playing at the wrong level and need more challenging opportunities. I don't think it helps when playing say the FA Youth Cup. Is there a stronger league they can join next year?

Whilst this is fantastic and everyone involved needs to be congratulated I can't help thinking that the players are playing at the wrong level and need more challenging opportunities. I don't think it helps when playing say the FA Youth Cup. Is there a stronger league they can join next year? The Ryman Youth League is generally regarded as the highest standard for under-18s in the region outside the Football League's Development Centres...although every season there does seem to be a weak link in each division but that's the same as any league in the country. There is an arguement for us to get involved in the Football Conference Youth Alliance which is something we are looking into, but a lot of the Academy teams we have come across in various competitions that play in that league are no better than the non-Academy boys we either produce through our Junior set-up or bring in from other sides. The benefit of our set-up at the moment is that the lads that we judge to be the best available under-18 footballers in the south London/Surrey area can continue their studies at the college of their choice rather than be tied into a contract with an establishment that may not actually be best for them educationally. Our FA Youth Cup run last year came to a (controversial) end against Welling who played most of their Kent League side rather than their Academy side, but we have a chance in a few weeks to make amends for that.

Oh, and please come and watch the lads if you ever get the chance. I know Banstead isn't great but for your £3 admission fee (or free with a season ticket), you usually get to watch a decent competitive game of football. I think even Billy might enjoy a game up there to be honest!!

Really enjoyed the balmy evening at merland rise. Couple of cracking goals in the mix as well and this bunch of lads are a treat to watch. Great stuff.
