Is the supporters club planning to run a coach to Kiddy?
With petrol costs around £40 it would make financial sense.

Agreed, I second that.

I was thinking of taking a steam train from Bridgenorth to Kidderminster and making a day of it (sad or what) but the last train back leaves at 4pm, so it's the car for me.

Hi Stewart, I for one would prefer to go via coach, even though it'll mean a 1hr 20min "ish" drive round to GGL to pick up the coach ( if I allow enough time to get round on the M25 lol ), it's up to all of us to "spread the word" and try to persuade as many people as we can to contact the club and say "put my name down on the list". If we get enough names then a coach will definitely run, but we need to make it viable as obviously hiring a coach isn't exactly cheap these days.

Hi all,
I have contacted Alison and there are currently no plans for to run a coach.
Supporters club have had a coach company on standby a few times over the past couple of seasons only to then have to cancel due to lack of numbers/interest (as with the Hemel game at the weekend).
Maybe if enough people express their interest on here it may change things but I cant promise and I don't know how much notice Alison needs to arrange such a thing anyway.

Defoe interested but appreciate the logistics and the aggro . Hate that drive up to the west mids and round the edge of brum and from what I remember the train up there is a pain in the jacks particularly on a Saturday and takes ages

I'd certainly be interested, it's probably the only way I could get to the game

Without wishing to speak for anyone else I'm sure drivers with car capacity can help out as an alternative! Makes sense to take full cars rather than half filled. Mind you it already sounds like there may be enough interest for a coach. Given we have a big game on Saturday I'm sure more will come on board for the coach if announcements are made.

It would be great to see Jermain Defoe at a Sutton game. Getting to Kidderminster by train isn't too hard if you start from London - fast trains to Birmingham take less than an hour and a half, then it's about 45 minutes to Kiddy. To avoid another change you need to get from Birmingham New St to Moor St station, but they're only about 10 minutes' walk apart. Aggborough is about 15 minutes on foot from Kidderminster station.

You make it seem easy AA I would need to get a bus to Sutton then a train to Victoria then a tube or bus to whatever station that serves Birmingham.

The lack of notice the supporters club will be able to give the coach company seems to make the coach idea unworkable.
As mentioned before, they have been good enough to allocate the supporters club a coach before only for it to then be cancelled because the interest does not result in concrete interest and deposits etc in the club shop.
The view is that it is not fair to mess the coach company around again.
After all, we may need them if we draw Man Utd away in the third round
Train looks a bit too much like hard work for me so I guess it will be fingers crossed for the motorways and a long drive.

Might I suggest an impromptu car club ? Supporters planning to drive to Kiddie but able to take extra passengers could be linked up with those needing transport. Shared costs, more people travel, everyone's a winner. You know it makes sense (in best Del Boy voice)
The drive isn't too bad these days, my brother in law lives in that part of the world and it's about 2.5 hours given a good run on the M40.

That's something I always do - it's very rare for me to drive to an away game without a full car!

If people are looking for a cheaper alternative, National Express and Megabus coaches may be your friend. Coaches drop off in Birmingham near either Snow Hill or Moor Hill from where you can train it to Kiddy, and the ground is a 5-10 minute walk from the station
