'New owners' (allegedly including partner of banned former Havant director) sounding out Steve Claridge about manager's job. 'Old owner' wanted a member of One Direction to be chairman and is trying to recruit an Inter Milan coach. Surely the most humiliating ever non league story. I know we don't want to miss out on a league fixture next season - but for the credibility of non league football, this lot cannot be reinstated. What the hell is wrong with these people? It's not rocket science FFS

To be fair, the humiliation heaped on Salisbury City looks largely to have been the responsibility of two men. The first is former Chairman William Harrison-Allan, on whose watch the debts built up as the club continued to run a full-time squad, and who was apparently duped into selling his majority shareholding to Otail Touzar for £1. The second is Touzar himself, a 'man of straw' who extracted what little money was left from the club while rabbiting on about a Saudi prince, a One Direction director, and other nonsense. It seems that both these individuals no longer have any formal involvement with the club. But the presence of Jackie Goddard among the new investor-directors should set fresh alarm bells ringing. Her old man, Jim Fallon, formerly vice-chairman and backer of Havant & Waterlooville, was banned from football for offering under-the-table payments to Tom Davis.

Oh dear. Either the legal victory wasn't a victory or Mr Moroccan businessman has just decided to ignore it. salisbury.co.nf/ - if there is anything legit about this page, then Salisbury's appeal is a non starter as it would seem that there is still a huge question mark over the ownership

The stuff about Sergio Zanetti and Niall Horan was reported in last Sunday's NLP. The NLP's take was that it was just the latest in a line of bizarre statements from Touzar.
The report said that Touzar had "lost control" of the club "after the sale [to Touzar] was overturned for fraudulent misrepresentation". This was done by rescinding the Share Purchase Agreement between Harrison-Allan and Touzar.

And the story gets better - "official" Salisbury announce a new head coach and an influx of foreign players, and even one that used to play for Tooting! Good ol' laughing stock of the league now salisbury.co.nf/?p=91

Just in case anyone's confused...Touzar appears to have set up his own website (or had it set up for him) which pretends to be the official Salisbury City site. He then posts whatever he likes on it.

Does anyone know the result of the conference meeting held last night?

Apparently the Conference received 2 x appeals - one from each of the parties claiming to own the club. One senses that if the slightly less of a joke would be owners establish that they are the owners, they might be let back in - if for no other reason but to appease the other Conference South teams. If that is the case, I hope at the very least they have to start the season with a substantial points penalty for breach of numerous league rules.

The bottom line is that Salisbury failed to meet several deadlines set by the Conference to prove that they were financially secure. Obviously selling the club to a nutter wasn't a good idea, but the fact that the club has managed to get the sale anulled doesn't affect the basic point. In fact the sale fiasco just reinforces how badly managed the club has been. It will be a disgrace if the Conference allow them to get away with it, even if we all suffer from running with one team short.

Salisbury consortium to spend another £50,000 next week trying to establish ownership.Claridge lined up to be manager. Hoping to resign 3 of last year's squad + some youngsters and arrange friendly with Portsmouth. Sadly I now find myself hoping they are reinstated - purely for the sake of Sutton's finances. As embarrassing as Salisbury have been, the Conference has been even worse.

....from a purely selfish point or view, I would like them to be reinstated ( subject to all the regs being met). This was one of my home games, having lost Dorchester, Eastleigh Weymouth in recent years.
