No way! What the f*ck is that? Classic commentary. Shocking ref but the idea we got the best of his decisions overall is garbage. The goal was an iffy free kick turned into a chance by a player using his brain. Compare it to the reindorf decision just before half time and it's on a different scale. Spencer Day? Was he watching the same game? In 1st half lino indicates free kick to Sutton ignored by ref. Clear penalty shout close to full time ignored. Many other dubious decisions. Yes ok there was no foul on Dundo but Glen had passed the ball wide on the left putting U's in a very favourable position which might have led to a goal and most refs would have allowed play to continue. Notwithstanding their Goalie is 52% MOM as at 11.10pm - I think that sums it up!

Palpable relief at the final whistle. Not the fluent Sutton of last season but certainly an improvement on last week.I thought Cooper slotted in well at the back and hopefully the team will gain confidence with this victory

I think we get to the point of ignoring Day and his idiotic rhetoric which for years have been used to cover the fact that he's not a very good manager. Think the headlines today were the ref had a poor game, with a couple of very poor decisions, and I thought it was going to be one of those days where the ball was going to run for us - we certainly had a few goalmouth scrambles where on any other day the ball would have fallen more kindly for us. But then Southam and Bignall, both of whom have had bad press from a few supporters in the last few weeks, conspired to bring us the breakthrough I thought we deserved. We were not spectacular by any means together, but certainly better than in recent weeks and based on that performance, if Farnborough stay up, then this league really is poor. They really were awful. But like I said a couple of days ago, people in glass houses...
We've still got work to do but yesterday we went from being poor to average. As far as i'm concerned that's a move in the right direction. Now we've won more than we've lost and we're back in the top 10. And still only 4 points out of a play off spot....

All you have to do is watch the match highlights and see the vote for their MOTM. It must have been a long drive back to Pluto for Spencer Day where he lives

good hard working preformance, but you can still see why we are conceding,i still don't know why we are not closing down the man with the ball, just letting them run at us,and giving them the oopotunity to shoot or pick out a player in a dangerous position

Saturday's game was my first of the season. With the demise of Salisbury, promotion of Eastleigh and relegation of Dorchester we are a bit short of Sutton games in the South West this year. I'm not sure what to make of the team on the basis of Saturday. I thought Farnborough were a poor team. Their keeper made several good saves and probably didn't deserve to end up on the losing side. We made heavy weather of things though and seemed to lack much subtlety resorting to long balls in to the front two. It just about worked against a poor Farnborough, whether it would against a better team is another matter. It would have been nice to see more control in mid field and worryingly even though we were rarely under pressure we looked vulnerable at corners and set pieces. In fact Farnborough really should have scored in the first half with a free header. Maybe the team is still gelling but on that display it's difficult to see a promotion challenge, rather staying mid table looks more of a realistic aspiration.
Farnborough's ground has changed enormously over the years. It really isn't half bad now, certainly Conference standard. I have no idea how the finances of non league football work. How Farnborough have a ground like that or why they need it. Equally our team seems full of ex pros and Conference players so goodness knows how we pay the wages, presumably the Directors put their hand in their pockets regularly.
