Boss sets the record straight, slams a club official and backs his players - but remains committed to the club, both emotionally and financially. He speaks candidly on why his family were left hurt by certain internet forum trolls.... It's all here on our facebook page www.facebook.com/southlondonsport

I totally understand why Dos has spoken out against the unfair comments. It's a shame the interview makes it look like all of us were saying things like that, though, when in fact it was a very small minority of fans and most of us were backing Dos all the way. It makes our whole group of fantastic fans look like a bunch of miserable, ungrateful moaners

Perspective needed here. There were (by my reckoning) only three people on Amber Planet who were openly critical of Dos, and I think only one of those could be described as a "troll". Contrast that with the twenty or so fans who piled in to support and defend him. Some of those might feel a little hurt that they haven't been publicly acknowledged, and that the impression given is of some mass outpouring of vitriol against the manager. The reference to "trolls" is not only inaccurate but, frankly, pretty offensive.
Any chance of setting the record straight, Tim?

AS much as I admire DOS for all the work he has done & the way Sutton FC is run, I believe this whole incident has been blown out of all proportion. I am sure Paul & his family were very upset with some of the remarks but the majority of the supporters were in support of him but this seems to have been overlooked. We have been spoilt since DOS arrived but one average season is not the end of the world

I think the great thing about this interview is that Dos says he sees himself at Sutton for the next 10 years. That, for me, is absolutely fantastic. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this.
Also, I had no idea he had 7 children! Blimey! His life is even more hectic than I thought. Hopefully the boys (I assume that they're not all girls)will be great footballers and can play for Sutton.
In Dos we trust. Up the Yellows.

Can't girls be great footballers, then?
Edit: Oh, you meant that in relation to playing for Sutton. Well, I hope women's and girls' football will have a higher profile at Sutton in future.

I'm glad you re-read my post Sarah.
How Stephanie Roche didn't win goal of the year I'll never know.
If you go back 15-20 years women's football was awful but not now. It's actually a very good standard. I've only been to one game watching team GB at the London Olympics and was mightily impressed.
Women's sport in the UK has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years. Watch out for a young lady called Bryony Smith who plays in the same cricket team as me. She's only 16 but has already played for Surrey Ladies and if she continues progressing she'll be in the England team in the next couple of years.

Are some of you deliberately missing the part that says "...I've been sucked in at United - it is a brilliant club, and 99.9 percent people involved are superb."
It is time to draw a line under this episode and move on. Any issues should now be between individuals and Dos, not for anyone else. Dos has acknowledged it was only a tiny percent, but that got to him. He has also acknowledged the rest are "superb".

It's a very valid point what Dos said about letting all the burglars know that they weren't at home. That wasn't too clever, was it....NIGEL!
I think I've been the only person to use the term "throwaway comments" that Andy referred to earlier. I meant to include in that particular post that obviously Dos doesn't consider them throwaway, but it was a bit late by the time I realised. I hold my hands up there. I was actually expecting someone to have picked up on that one before now!
Regarding the business about rumours being spread on the forum, I just wonder if it's feasible to have some kind of code for us all to adhere to. It's getting daft the amount of times people have to be advised to wait for official confirmation from the club.
Anyway, I want to end on a positive note and I'd have to say that the part of the article that really jumped out at me was "I see myself at United for the next 10 years". To use Homer Simpson terminology: "Woh-hoh!!"

You are right to point that out NTG but it did get a bit lost amongst all the negative stuff. I'm not blaming Dos for that: it's just how it was presented. I'm glad you re-read my post Sarah. Yes, sorry, my reply was a bit too hasty! I would like to see an established women's side at SUFC again though.

I didn't know Dos played for Eastleigh. Does anyone know about his football playing career?

This was my immediate viewpoint after reading the article, would like to see some sort of amendment.

I didn't know Dos played for Eastleigh. Does anyone know about his football playing career? I think he played in the Southern League with Havant as a defender going on memory.
