Oh dear !!!.... according to Sky Warren Mc not included in the squad, was he injured, dropped or late. Now 10 points adrift, must get something from Hampton & R, over Christmas, a surprise package in the league this season. We are lucky in the sense that the teams above us are not winning.

McBean was ill, Ottaway was working. Winning goal was Stortford's only on-target attempt of the game and MoM had to be their keeper.

Dundas MOM for me, worked so hard as a lone striker.

Its days like today where you just wonder about what could have been. Honest opinion is that we were the better team over the whole 90 mins. There was no peaks and troughs like normal, and every player worked really hard today. Ug got subbed at half time. Not because he was injured or playing badly, but because he was on a yellow card and got a stern talking to just before half time. I think Ernie realised that this would have been the type of ref who would have given a yellow card for a hard challenge rather than an unlawful one. A very good move. Personally I'm glad I didn't have the MoM responsibilites, as it would have been very hard to pick one player out of 11. Hughes was picked, and a very good choice too, but it could have so easily had gone to virtually any of our team. We had many chances and a combination of bad luck and fantastic keeping by the BS keeper stopped us. Its such a shame that he spoilt his good performance in what could only be described as a very 'unprofessional' reaction to the Sutton supporters at the end of the match.
I'm a bit gutted. 3 points should and could have been ours today. Instead we have 0. But we have lost heavier to teams better than BS earlier this season. If we had this team in September/October, I really doubt we would be in the position we are currently in

A bit lost for words really nothing wrong with an excellent display, I cannot fault the effort commitment and superb football totally outplaying a Stortford side who could not of been expecting to just be hanging on for large patches of the game. We should had a penalty for hand ball, their keeper played a blinder and at least 2 cleared off the line to concede a last minute goal against the run of play whilst chucking the kitchen sink at them was just well unbelievable. I know for sure I broke every ground condition when that happened and their keeper was a complete arse. Dundas was superb holding the ball up PW had nothing to do all day we were well and truly robbed 1981 all over again.
If we lack anything its a quality striker if we had that we would be a playoff team, but we cannot score and thats it in a nutshell. I hope the players keep their heads up because a 3 or 4 winning streak is just around the corner, I would rate our defence as currently one of the best in the league.

I think OS is flattering us, but certainly the result was very cruel. A classic example of how, when you're already down, fate has a habit of kicking you in the teeth.
We looked the better side over the 90 minutes, but perhaps didn't do quite enough to deserve a win. I agree that Dundas had a good game, but could have done with a predator up alongside him. One wonders what the outcome would have been had McBean played. Their keeper played well, while Phil looked at fault for the goal, coming out for a ball that he didn't collect.
This was a match we really could have done with winning. If we lose at Hampton on Wednesday, I fear that it will be all over.

Despite the feeling of being totally gutted after a 92nd minute kick in the teeth, you really have to say that Ug probably should have seen red in the first half. Add to that the non-penalty decision for the handball in the 2nd half and that's evened out.
That said, I thought their 15 was offside for the killer strike, as did most of us in the stand. However, in Stortford's previous attack the lino chose to wave his flag when the guy wasn't in an offside position.
All in all we're gonna have to take this one on the chin I'm afraid chaps. What can you do? If you can't score you're not going to win.

Spot on Amber.
Ourselves to blame as we didn't score, managed to drag BS down to our level and all credit to us, we just needed to score and we didn't, the rest is semantics as already detailed in this thread. Ho Hum.
Lyall, I'm impressed that the ref was doing a game in Ukraine while assisting at Norwich and at Southampton, good work! Not surprised that this is his highlight!!

Phyisically sick.
That's the only way to describe how I felt at 4.48pm this afternoon as their player rifled the ball into the net.
PH was rightly subbed at half time. He should have seen red in the 1st half. Jason Goodchild replaced him and had his best 45 minutes in a Sutton shirt so far.
I just hope everyone can pick themselves up after today to get ready for Boxing Day...gutting to say the least

I have to disagree with this as I think it does us a dis-service (meh), I think we played very well until the final cutting edge and actually played above our current league posistion.
