The grey-haired old B*st*rd in the foreground certainly seemed to enjoy it! That's why we enjoy the game, 80 minutes of frustrating football then we suddenly get a goal deluge. Our loyalty rewarded

Andy K I have to say I didn't think it was a dire first half. Ross did one great save but I thought we bossed it. Craig Mac missed two or three good chances and we played excellent football. As usual not one player gave less than 100%. That's way Leicester are top of the Prem and why we have a good team. Thoroughly enjoying it at the moment. BTW (I need to whisper this) Eastmond was rather good today. As was Gomis. Gomis is some player and when CE plays in the FL again I do think teams may want to take on BG as well

Concord Rangers winning run ends.Echo News. The Beach Boys dumped Sutton out of the FA Trophy last Saturday, winning 3-1, but the visitors learned their lessons of seven days ago to claim the victory. Concord boss Adam Flanagan and goalkeeper Ben McNamara had scooped the manager and player of the month awards on Thursday, and it was the home team that started brighter as they looked to pick up from where they left off last month. Ben Greenhalgh's left-footed effort was heading for the top corner before it was clawed away from the top corner by Ross Worner. The home goalkeeper was having a good game between the posts, ending a Concord counter-attack by anticipating Jordan Cox's touch to head the ball clear as the striker burst through. But Sutton were also posing a threat, with Bedsente Gomis’s low volley bringing the best out of McNamara. Cox missed a golden chance to open the scoring when he fluffed his lines, before the incident between Bailey-Dennis and Collins. But Sutton saved their best until last, and it was a terrific goal. Craig Dundas put the away side in front with a solo effort, after he skipped through a host of challenges and shooting past McNamara. Substitute Tom Bolarinwa finished off a scruffy move from close range and it was Bolarinwa who made the result safe when he capitalised on defensive indecision to slam the ball home. www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/14126855.Concord_run_ends_as_they_are_bitten_by_Sutton_United/

According to the NLP report (from their fella) the incident was an alleged bite by Skip on their big no 6 after his late challenge. The NLP report says skip escaped a red cos the ref didn't see it. Their no 6 certainly did having already been booked.
A "scruffy move" meaning a well delivered free-kick pounced on by Tom and belted home. The NLP gave the match three stars compared to last week's four. Considering more football was in evidence yesterday than the previous Saturday would suggest that Concord's idea of the beautiful game certainly ain't beautiful. Or is the one star the difference between winning and losing? The report also sounds as if we stole the win and if that is the case it is a fabrication of AFC Hornchurch levels.
Concord has done marvelously to get where they are on limited resources and I dare say their people are good, amiable hosts but reading the nlp report and the extract above would suggest they don't mind entering into a little football propaganda down Canvey way.

The Concord fan on the Conference South forum has been going on about the biting incident. I'd never have thought JC was Sutton's answer to Luis Saurez!
Time will tell, but I reckon yesterday's win (which I'm sorry I missed) might be a pivotal result in Sutton's season. After losing on the same ground in the Trophy a week earlier the team might have been forgiven for thinking that a draw would be decent outcome this time. To have come away with a 3-0 victory - even if all the goals came in a late rush - showed great spirit and character. It sounds too as if Dos and the coaching staff got the tactics spot on.
That's three consecutive league wins now, whereas previously this season we'd not managed to string two together. The reward is fifth place. With five of our next six games against sides in the bottom seven, we have a great opportunity to consolidate a play-off position.

Just a thought, but perhaps we ought to feed JC before games !

I've seen a photo of the incident (on the Conf South forum) and it really does look like a bite. Probably is. But I'm bearing in mind that you'd get the same image if the Concord player had slammed his arm backwards into JC's face. I admit that's not the most likely scenario, but since it's not for me to judge I have the luxury of being able to give him the benefit of the doubt.
