4 points out of 6 against the form side, will take that, should put us midway of the last 6 games form table.
Dorch, Welling, Bognor and St Albans all lost, lovely.
Even had we won at Maidenhead I wouldn't have fancied our chances but the starting 11 today looked much stronger, based on the first half a neutral wouldn't have been able to choose between the sides. sadly I missed most of the second half and only saw the last minutes, boo!
Anyway, well done Ernie and the boys. Let's hope that a much needed confidence-boost is taken today and some of the 'unsettled' players have renewed faith, now that one or two have already gone a settled side that knows what they're capable of can really give this a good go.

Got to add, I felt that the ref had a good game today on what I saw but perhaps we had some longoverdue luck and finally got a 'reffing' break - Devonshire was doing his bits that H&R weren't awarded a penalty towards the end, free kick on the edge of the box that was tipped over by Phil. Just goes to show the fine line, we've had some of the worst decisions ever this season and they can definitely affect the outcome, maybe we finally got one back today. From Hampton message board: hamptonfc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4054"What a disapointment. We lost! We were so bad that I demand my money back, there was no pace, width or team effort it was our worst performance of the season, we looked like the team bottom of the league, sort it out.
Ps The officals was very bad as well, that was a penalty to us in the 92nd minute not a free kick, if I see that linesman again I will stick his pole somewhere where the sun does not shine. I really want to swear and chossing my words carefully, but it was the biggest Embarrassment today, I don't mind losing when we compete but today............................."

There are many of little faith, the perfect start to the New Year just what we needed and fantastic match for the neutral, but new pants required by the home support on a number of second half occasions. As Millsy said the sides were even nothing to pick from the sides, our commitment was first rate, the performance deserved the win and we had a touch of luck that has so for eluded us this season. Plus the first penalty converted at GGL since April 2006.
I am over the moon could not pick a MOTM all were top drawer today, their keeper was very sporting at the end clapping us. This is just the start of our escape act, go win at St Albans and we are back to the pack today was a massive win but will need to build on it and we can do it :-)

At last, a league victory to celebrate at GGL! (The last one was in April. ) The result gives us a real lifeline. This was a vast improvement on Saturday's performance, but we did field a stronger side - McBean, Scarborough, Honey and Henry were all back in the starting eleven (though sadly Jason went off early with an injury, to be replaced by Ottaway). Craig Dundas gave another battling performace up front and took his scoring opportunities well. Phil looked at fault for the Hampton equalliser but redeemed himself later with a string of saves. An honourable mention too for Dean Sammut who made some awesome tackles as H&R pressed forward late in the game. I posted before the Stortford game that to stay up we need to average around 7 points from every four matches. We've actually got 5 from the last four, which was just about the minimum required. We have another massive game at St Albans on Saturday. But win that and we're off the bottom.

Phil looked at fault for the Hampton equalliser The ball bobbled right in front of PW he was very unlucky, and I think the ball bobbled again causing the Hampton defender to slice it against his own bar!

Beautiful, just beautiful. Obviously a change in formation benefited the team alot, as we looked strong in midfield and were very attack-minded. Thought McBean, Ottoway and Dundas were all really good today. AJ continues to look good back at left-back IMO. Obviously the last few minutes were tense, but when the final whistle went, the relief and joy on both the terraces and the pitch was great. We've got a chance to climb the table on Saturday, let's take it!

Finally we got a bit of luck today!! But that's not taking away from tremendous performances by everyone involved. On top of Craig's two goals, special mention to Dean Sammutt, Alan Bray and Harry Ottaway who all had fantastic games.
We've really got to build on this now. Saturday is massive - and of course another win will take us off the bottom of the table
