Yes! Just watched the winner on Youtube so thanks to whoever sorted that out. Fingers crossed for more of the same. By the look of the reports people are posting we still aren't playing so well but we are getting results. We are nearly back in the pack. Come on you Yellows!

Make no mistake, we certainly didn't deserve 3 points today, but with 3 Stortford lads supporting us who didn't deserve 3 points a couple of weeks ago, who gives a sh*t?!! Cheers to Mit from Stortford for providing the videos of the goals. Whatever happens between now and the end of April, THAT moment will live with me forever. Even if it did nearly kill me. (EDIT - just watched the video for the 50th time I think. Who's going to own up to the "He's got 2 men on him, help him out" comment before Harry's moment of brilliance?? Maybe Mark Kidd should? One thing to say about today.....these youngsters are really doing us proud at the moment. Steve Griffin & co....keep up the good work please!!

What can I say. Many more games like that and a lot of us will be needing funerals and urgent medical attention.
Rubbish game for 70 mins to be honest, and St Albans should rightly be a bit peed off for losing that game. But how many times have we said that this season?
Still some way to go. Moment of genius from Harry for scoobys goal. Moment of madness by Nicky, even with provocation. Phil played a blinder, and Jack and Dean had good games too.
One thing that was really telling in the bar at the end. Although the sutton players came in one by one, they were soon all together like a big gang. I've not seen that in ages, and its something I want to see more of. They are gelling as a team, and work as a team. That can only be good for our results.
Now we have 3 matches against teams 1,3 and 4th in the current form table......

I really can't take another 4 months of this! It really was another Maidenhead, except this time we actually nicked all 3 points as opposed to the one! We were pretty dreadful for most of the game and again only really came to life in the last 20 or so. But we really have to give credit to the lads for one thing here and thats the fact that we just once again dug in and somehow, I don't know how, but somehow dragged a win out of that. Big thanks to Mit from the Stortford rent-a-crowd who joined us today for the afternoon & used his neutrality to the fullest at the end and got that footage of both goals for us. Miller must have watched the clip of the winner about 50 times on his mobile on one fag break alone outside the Mermaid! Oh and one last thing...........GO ON 'ARRY! ;D EDIT - PS. Was it just me, or was their penalty the worst ever witnessed in the entire history of humakind? Nope, thought not......

Magnificent result! Saints were the better side for most of the match (penalty saved, ball cleared off the line, shot against the post, couple of great saves from Phil, then taking the lead) but we deserved a bit of luck this season, and made the one man advantage tell in the dying minutes. Ernie's substitution of McBean for Ottaway turned out to be a shrewd move. And yes, their penalty was one of the worst ever taken!

Joy of work being mad in Jan means my next day off's the 28th so no U's for me for a while, and boy am I annoyed I've missed two wins on the bounce. When was the last time we came back from behind to win?

What a buzz. From arguably the lowest low of the season to the biggest up in twenty minutes. One nil down, ten against ten, having seemingly pissed away our biggest game with an oddly lacklustre performance considering the stakes, i was clinging onto the usual blind optimism by the thinnest of threads. My throat was going and as such i could barely shout my encouragement, it was wet, cold and horrible, we'd been rubbish and we were, as it stood, six points behind St Albans and somewhat f*cked... And then the penalty came. A lifeline you would struggle to argue we deserved... I nearly died when Craig's contact with the ball wasn't as clean as you would like and for a millisecond of utter horror i thought the keeper would have it easily as the ball seemingly crawled towards goal. Thankfully the keeper went the wrong way and we were away It was a hell of a lifeline and as seems to be the case now when we get that glimmer of hope there's only one way it was ever going. The man advantage was showing and yet somehow Ottaway was stuck on his own with two men tight on him. How he got past them i will never know but he did and with a textbook run and cross to Scooby who put the ball away as well as any striker, hitting it cleanly and lofting it over the keeper, we'd done it. Naturally, as is the Sutton way, a humongous bundle ensued with my lanky frame right in the thick of it (check out the video ) and i can tell you i have never wanted to hug a man more than i did right then with Scooby and Dundas. It even surpassed the uncomfortably long one with Matty Fowler in the six-nil Who needs drugs when you have Sutton! High as a kite from the second that hit the net to well into the evening. Awesome stuff. Staaaaaaaaaaaaaying Up! That said, 4-5-1, when it doesn't work out it REALLY doesn't work out! Still, all part of the Howe masterplan no doubt I'm off to watch the video again

To be brutaly honest, we are gonna have to play a darn sight better than that if the miracle is to happen. As said earlier, that was a Maidenhead type performance & but for St Albans appalling indiscipline we probably would have lost.
Still, we won a rather important match & have the psycological plus off being off the bottom for the first time in about four months.
Iwas disappointed with WB again today, who really does seem to have motivational problems, while NG really needs to have a look at himself, getting sent off five mins after coming on even if provoked.
Oh by the way, next time I get to the fence first & a bundle ensues on top of me, please remember i'm not a young lad anymore, I'm under 5'6'' & I wear specs!!

Not the greatest of performances but not as bad as some make out especially the second half.I would have settled for the draw but the win was bloody unbelievable!

I had the same thought as Rax so checked when I got back last night, and I'm pretty certain the last time we won after being behind was against Weston the night Ross Gaynor and Charlie Ide made their debuts - I think Weston had gone in front after about five minutes. 12 September 2006.

If Pressec says "I think", you can usuaally be fairly sure he's right Interesting how we all see the same things differently (who on here said Scooby headed the winner !) On the St Albans site their official report quotes their manager as saying "The decision for the penalty is the one that has really ruined us; one, he dived and, two, he (Faal-Thomas) even got the ball." Well actually, no he didn't get the ball and the defender clearly held Bash back. And can someone tell me why their fans are upset with the linesman for our winner ? It was a strange game with all the cards, sendings-off and two penalties but, to be fair the the referee, he probably got every one of those decisions right. Finally, no news on the player front at the moment - in or out - but we had scouts at two games yesterday and Ernie is searching hard to see if the right types of player are available. Wth suspensions looming we are clearly a bit short in the squad.

I said Scooby headed the winner and left it in to show exactly your point HonSec when I edited after seeing the video Yes we did not play well, yes we had a bit of luck but we earnt every bit of it, and after the game at GGL when we should of had a Penalty against them and several games where we were the better side and got nothing, Lewes / Eastbourne / Stortford etc. We are owed a lot of luck as we have had sod all up until now and you make it yourself as the lads did yesterday by sheer persistence hard work and belief. The one thing that came across load and clear from St Albans is although their players may of believed for a while yesterday their supporters are a beaten bunch, failing to pull their side through in the last 10 mins where were they, maybe they should look at themselves today? With belief comes confidence and with 'Ern the Turn' and now Arry Houdini onboard plus a never say die attitude from both the players and supporters theirs no reason we can't get out of trouble. A game lasts for 90mins plus added time not 80, why do you think all the top sides score so many match winning goals in the last 10mins it aint luck. Like a boxer who hangs in their for 11 rounds and delivers a quick knockout one two in the twelfth we won yesterday because as a unit we wanted it more than they did

Can't see why the manager is annoyed with the pen, their guy came at Bash and just simply checked him. He got nowhere near the ball! He should be more p*ssed off with the no2's ridiculous yellow card for dissent earlier on which meant his foul for the pen got him sent off.
Thought Stalebuns played well and the performance reminded me of some of ours earlier in the season, but their ill discipline cost them dearly. All the cards picked up by them were for really stupid things.

I read in the NL Today that Castle said the 2 never touched Bash. Well, Mr C, that means your player is a Flipping liar & you are naive to believe him. No wonder the City fans don't want him as a manager. First game & he's blaming the ref for defeat.

I was standing directly infront of the penalty incident, and it was most certainly a trip. But then the way that number 2 acted are you suprised he's been telling porkies?
