In the space of twenty-four hours the balance of power at the top of the table has shifted. Both us and Maidstone are now breathing down Ebbsfleet's neck.
Today's was another excellent team performance from Sutton, but if one player was the difference between the two sides then that was Tom Bolarinwa. After we'd had the better of the first 25 minutes without converting our chances,he broke down our left and, despite losing the ball near the corner, regained possession and crossed for Nicky Bailey to chip against the bar, with Ross Stearn nodding in the rebound. Truro made some attacking substitutions in the second half and began to exert more pressure, but Tom was then pushed up front and duly scored the second after outpacing the defence and, although running slightly wide, beating the keeper with a fine finish,
Jamie Collins, Dan Fitchett and Shaun Cooper all came on as second-half subs. We'll need them for the continued assault on the top.

Maidstone still have some other hard games to play, including away at Truro. That will be tough for them. Monday may be interesting as the weather may have a major affect on the games that are played and with the possibility of some being postponed Just realised that fixture is the same day we play Ebsfleet. A much better scenario as none of the top three teams can play for a certain result that day - except for a win that is.

I can't see past our game at Maidstone next week. Lose that and we have gifted them the upper hand in the title race. Win it, and the league is ours to lose Please don't go to the Gallagher Stadium next week Sarah..............you'll be there all on your own lol It's actually the week after

Monumental effort to get into this position. Can't praise the players and staff highly enough. Hope we can continue this for another few games. Not to get away from the one game at a time line, but surely that Maidstone game is looking like an all ticket affair?

What can you say, the team have been fantastic, taking 9pts from 3 very difficult away matches without conceding a goal is a phenomenal achievement.
I am not even daring to dream, I just remember that Dover playoff match and the pain. Don't think ahead just one match at a time as they say, Maidstone is no more important than Whitehawk, what others do isn't important, its what we do that counts.

A lot of your scoffed in my general direction when I said we could catch Ebbsfleet. A couple of months ago we were 15 points behind with no games in hand. Now we are just 6 points behind with 3 games in hand. It's gone from being an outside chance to being very possible. It now it seems that the match on 5th April is more important than the one on the 16th. We could well be in a position by then that even if we lost against fleet it could matter less and less.
But anyway onto today....Truro certainly were the best of the 3 away sides weve played recently but we ground out a result. To me the real winners for us today are the same as the last few weeks. The defence and I think a mom performance from kevin amankwah today. He was class today as were all the defence. We just keep on getting those results and beating a team who've not lost at home in any competition since late August is stunning and a real statement of intent. Ebbsfleet should be crapping themselves accordingly.
A great result against a tough side in horrible conditions.

I said at Christmas that I thought we could win the league. Thought we were fantastic today. I agree Kevin and the defence were again awesome but so was Bailey. All had a great game in fact. Truro were lacklustre and for the first 45 they hardly got out of their half and we really should have been two or three up at half time with Slabber been thwarted by their keeper. He also did another fine save to deny Dundo and we missed a few other chances too. Second half Truro finally got into the game but a great goal by Tombo and some good tactical substitutions saw as through.
A thoroughly enjoyable weekend but we must continue this on Monday. Can't wait

Great win, however I am on a night bus as GWR got us into Paddington 15 minutes late. Likely to get home at half three !!! Still buzzing from the win though. Kbb2

Just got back and as stated previously,an excellent win in difficult conditions.I had to listen to a twenty minute talk about how Cornwall should be independent but apart from that a great day out. I've said all along that we can catch Ebbsfleet & that Maidstone are our biggest rivals for the title and so it is panning out.

Of all our dozen away wins this season, this has to be the most impressive. Stuck on a train for five hours with limited leg room, the lads came out and gave a tremendous display of football, encapsulating spirit, strength, resilience and skill. It was great testimony to their desire, personal conditioning and ability. As well as the management for making some shrewd second half tactical decisions, the physios, Bobby and Catherine should be praised for keeping this squad in the sort of shape that allowed for yesterday's events to unfold.
Truro rarely threatened in the first half, even though they had the favour of the wind. The back four were excellent again, Ross W as assured as ever and in Nick Bailey, my MoM, a brilliant performance in front of the back four. Bedse was energetic, while Ross and Tom B on the flanks caused problems - although their no 3 proved a difficult obstacle for Tom to pass - while Slabs and Dundo worked hard with and without the ball up front.
The first goal came after a Truro corner was cleared with the home side claiming hand ball. U's broke away and Tom B won possession back and crossed for Nick B to lift his effort onto the bar for Ross S to finish with a simple header.
Second half, Truro made changes that livened them up and Vassell broke away but Ross W was equal to his low drive. U's continued to threaten but opted to hold the fort bringing on skip for Ross S. A long ball out allowed Tom B to outpace the defender and take the ball to the left of the goal before shooting low into the corner; the keeper didn't move.
As for the ref yesterday. A strange performance but nothing of any consequence to upset the match and no bookings throughout. Well done to him for that.
So, a great win in some horrid conditions and well worth shelling out for first class rail fare. T'was a long old day but we march on. Well done to everybody concerned and to those there to witness it.
As for those on here who think we have caught Ebbsfleet already, well we haven't. Still a long way to go and the next match will be difficult against a Whitehawk side slowly coming back to form. We have won nothing yet, accept for as good as confirming a play-off place.

It's interesting that Steve Tully apparently chose not to start with two of his attacking players as he had an eye on tomorrow's trip to Oxford City (5th v 4th).
It's clear now that it's a three-horse race for the title. This has the makings of a tight finish. We're third and have the most difficult run-in, but we do have more games left to play than the other two and that's an advantage we still need to exploit. We also have the best gd, which would be decisive if we finish level on points with one (or even both!) of the others.
Please, don't anyone fall into the trap of thinking that Ebbsfleet are 'doing a Bromley'. When Bromley threw away the lead two seasons ago they flipped from winning most of their games to losing most of them. Ebbsfleet have only lost twice in the league since Christmas. But they have drawn a lot recently, and that's allowed ourselves and Maidstone to chip away at their lead. Ebbsfleet are still in pole position though, and if they win their five remaining matches would almost certainly clinch the title.
