Walton & Hersham will be relegated (probably to the CCL) if they fail to beat Dorking Wanderers on Tuesday evening at Stompond Lane. Pity for Walton & Hersham, they've fallen a bit - have they ever been as low as CCL level? They were one of our rivals a fair few years back weren't they?

In the early 1970s they were one of the best amateur clubs in England. Several of their players moved on to Wimbledon and formed the basis of that club's rise up through the leagues. They won the Amateur Cup in 1973.

They still had one of the best sides I've ever seen at this level.

They still had one of the best sides I've ever seen at this level. Beat us 3-0 en route to their Amateur Cup triumph. Dave 'Harry' Bassett was their captain I believe.

So, Basingstoke are relegated but 3 points separate the 4 clubs immediately above them - St Albans, Margate, Hayes & Yeading and Havant & Waterlooville, who have a game in hand. In theory, all clubs down to tenth could still get into the play-offs.
In the National League, Cheltenham return to the FL but Welling and Kidderminster are relegated. Altrincham, Guiseley, Boreham Wood and Halifax are battling to avoid filling the other two places but Chester in 18th look as though they will survive.
Poole Town have won promotion to National League South but even Chippenham in 8th spot could still make the play-offs.
In the Ryman Premier Hampton & Richmond need one point to be champions, only Bognor can still catch them and it looks like the play-offs will also include East Thurrock & Tunbridge plus either Dulwich Hamlet or Enfield Town. In the South Division, James Bracken's Corinthian-Casuals need to win their last game to clinch a place in the play-offs.

If we go up then we'll be renewing acquaintance with Dagenham & Redbridge, relegated from League Two to the National League. It's almost certain that they'll be joined in the drop by York City. So there's the prospect of trips to three ancient cathedral cities next season (York, Lincoln, Chester).

Having just come back from a visit there, the "ale" opportunities in York are almost endless - there's a good chance AA wont get to the game!! So many fantastic boozers.

Wonderful to see Folkestone going up... Relegating them on the day we won the Ryman slightly put a damper on that day.

Just spotted that K's lost 1-0 at home to Staines yesterday, meaning that they can't now make the Ryman play-offs. Such a shame! Oh, and Cheshire, I'm well acquainted with the pubs of York. And looking forward to being re-acquainted with them!

Hampton and Richmond will win the Ryman League title tonight if Bognor fail to beat already relegated Brentwood at Nyewood Lane.
In Ryman 1 North, aside from AFC Sudbury who won at a canter, 4 teams will be in the playoffs who have all been at Ryman Prem before - Thurrock, AFC Hornchurch, Cray and Harlow, whilst former Conference South side Redbridge (remember that day when the gate man there attacked Matt Gray as he was taking a corner) drop out of the Ryman league altogether.

I see Basingstoke are going full-time but will be recruiting players who've dropped out of the academy system.

So, we won't be playing Welling or Kidderminster next season, or of course Cheltenham, and more than likely 1 of Forest Green, Grimsby, Braintree or Dover. Tranmere could crash the party but will need to win against Grimsby and hope Braintree lose against Altrincham. At the other end its 2 from these 4 - Boreham Wood, Guisley, Altrincham and Halifax.
We'll be playing Solihul Moors for the first time next season, and one of AFC Fylde, North Ferriby, Harrogate and Nuneaton and possibly Boston united. A couple of familiar names there (esp Boston) but some very new ones too for us.
The Ryman league ended today and Hampton won by 1 point in the end - a draw enough for them today to hold off Bognor. Bognor now play Dulwich whilst East Thurrock host Steve McKimms Tonbridge.
Thanks to Truro losing today and Whitehawk winning, the Hawks could gatecrash the play offs, especially as they play Truro on Tuesday. Hemel losing (and letting in 4) at Margate today won't help their cause, and although 1/2/3 are decided in our current league, 4th and 5th are certainly up for grabs - Truro/Hemel/Whitehawk and amazingly Dartford could still make it.
At the bottom, Hayes and Yeading are pretty much relegated as they will have to get 3 points on St Albans and turn around a 17 goal difference penalty. Havant could still escape, but they also play Truro this week. It will now be one of them, St Albans and Margate. Bath and Weston both winning today means they are safe.
