15 November 2015 Hartlepool United 3 Leyton Orient 1. Who knew that will be repeated as a non-League game only two seasons later.

It doesn't feel like that long ago I saw Brighton beat Hartlepool in a league match...next season one of them will be in the Premier League and the other will be a non-league side!

I couldn't get anywhere near the numbers quoted here. But I can claim to have been a paying spectator on 6 continents. Dunedin City (NZ) didn't survive my visit, Penarol (Uruguay), CD Guadalajara (Mexico), Zamalek (Egypt), RBSC (Thailand) are still going strong.
In European club matches I have been to 3 places where the predominant thought was "this isn't Europe!" Sinferopol (Crimea) Trabzon (Turkey) and Haifa (Israel). Definitely the most orderly crowd was in Sinferopol where the 1st 6 rows all the way round were the Red army in uniform. Most unlikely shop was in Trabzon where I doubt the patron of the UFUK School of English has been here. Most persistent shopkeeper was in Haifa who started trying to sell me a pair of jeans and ended trying to sell me his daughter. My cab arrived in the nick of time; I left saying "I don't think you've got one in my size", which might have covered both items.

I took the opportunity this afternoon to notch up my 142nd different ground with a visit to Horsham’s nice new stadium. Neat little set-up and a 3G pitch. The Hornets thumped Bowers & Pitsea 4-0 to go top of the Isthmian Premier, thereby increasing the likelihood of you all getting the chance of a visit next season when we meet them in the National League South!
