Oh and Richard Money is the new manager at Solihull Lasted long.. Not surprised after he said Fylde were the best team he'd seen this year and will get promoted and then Dave Challinor said that Fylde weren't at their best! Lost it methinks! They announced yesterday that they had signed Sean St Ledger until January. Wonder if that's still the case.

Odd from Money. You’d think he would have known the commitment needed prior to accepting!!

One that was probably on the cards a little - no league win since 2nd September for the O's.

Hardly surprising as they've not won a game since the start of September.

Will it make a change to their results? Maybe not according to Dutch economist Dr Bas ter Weel.
"Changing a manager during a crisis in the season does improve the results in the short term," he says. "But this is a misleading statistic because not changing the manager would have had the same result."
Ter Weel analysed managerial turnover across 18 seasons (1986-2004) of the Dutch premier division, the Eredivisie. As well as looking at what happened to teams who sacked their manager when the going got tough, he looked at those who had faced a similar slump in form but who stood by their boss to ride out the crisis.
He found that both groups faced a similar pattern of declines and improvements in form.Full article HERE

How many are caused by unrealistic expectations?
Not only the likes of Fylde coming up with lofty ideas of being good enough for the playoffs but almost every FL team that drops seems to think they have a right to be on the promotion shortlist with no change of players. Why? They cannot see how awful you have to be to finish at the bottom of League 2, when half the division are mediocre teams drifting along. Then the VNL comes as as an unpleasant surprise because in it, only other recently fallen league clubs seem content to drift. Everyone else is striving hard to improve with a view to being promoted.

I think the National has a unique style of football, you don't get anywhere near the space you do in the South, where if you can play a bit you can cut sides to ribbons. noticed you don't see the 4,5 - nills even against the bottom sides its tough. IMO the national is about, strength, experience, and doing the basics right. You have to earn the right to play with a little flare, every week the midfield has to be won, against any opposition and then you got to get past well drilled experienced tough defenders. I think some of the ex-league teams think we got the moves, we got the skill so we should bounce straight back, they then find its a battle and not a cake walk, against sides just trying to survive.
