Following this mornings inspection the game has been given the all clear to be on.
A big thank you to the staff at Sutton United & the volenteers at SCR for all the hard work this morning in getting the inspection passed.
Hopefully we will get some additional local support today and if you are coming bring your SU 17/18 season ticket with you to get in for only £2
#bringtheyellow and support local grass roots football

Enjoyed my first SCR game, good win and Stone Roses playing in the bar afterwards.

4-1 home win with goals from Daryl Cooper-Smith, Malachi Thomas & 2 from Tom Neale.
Not a great performance but a very important 3 points.
Thank you for all the additional support we received today and also everyone who helped to get the game on.

Aldershot pitch was playable and that is a proper football pitch ...it was postponed because of the surrounding area and Hartlepools travel issues

Aldershot pitch was playable and that is a proper football pitch ...it was postponed because of the surrounding area and Hartlepools travel issues Sorry I don’t understand your reference of a proper football pitch. If you mean it’s a grass pitch then I would of understood you. Trust me when I say that Sutton United’s 3G pitch is better than most grass pitches you would ever play on. Also looking at how many matches were postponed due to grounds with so called proper pitches and most 3G pitch matches went ahead as planned, I think it says a lot for which kind of football pitch is more suitable in our English winter weather playing football season.

Aldershot pitch was playable and that is a proper football pitch ...it was postponed because of the surrounding area and Hartlepools travel issues From Aldershots website. "Although the pitch remains playable, the decision to postpone Saturday’s fixture has been taken with supporter safety in mind, due to the condition of the surrounding areas, likely travel problems and additional snowfall forecast for Friday."

This may be seen as splitting hairs, but if the game was called off in advance of Friday's snowfall, then it probably wasn't playable after it. Since we don't know either way, there's no point using it as an example.

Oh! a proper pitch, lets have a look at Dover Athletics today before KO : I heard the commentary of the Dover's match today vs Leyton Orient, the commentators stated such things as "he took a risk passing back there" "Its a lottery on this bobbly surface" etc etc - but a proper pitch it was, with the odd patch of grass too, along with a huge dumping of Kent mud! I think the players ran out to the Simon And Garfunkel tune - Slip Slidin' Away

Latest League Table.... With 10 League games left it will be an exciting 3 horse race for that 2nd place promotion spot as we still all have to play each other before the season ends. We start the 10 game run in with a tough away trip to Walton & Hersham next Saturday.

Well done on the win yesterday, out of interest, how many turned up to watch ( bet there was a healthy contingent from SUFC too ! ) ?? Thank you. We had a gate of 130 (which is good for our low step 5 level) as our average gate is about 80 so we appreciate all the extra Sutton United fans who put themselves out to come and support us yesterday.
