Yes such sad news. I was lucky that I did meet him once. A very amiable man. Such a shame he couldn't have hung on a bit longer to see if we could get into the League.

For those of us who grow up when Barrie was with the club, he laid the foundations for all future generations. Barrie was a true LEGEND who will never be forgotten, SUFCtv will be running some tribute tweets to him this week.

A sad day indeed. Where has the time gone since those heady days of the late 80s. It seems like it was only a few years ago to me. He undoubtedly helped foster all that I enjoyed about the club in the late 80s and 90s and was the personification of why I thought SUFC was a cut above your average football club. Gone but never forgotten.

Very sorry to hear the news - a gentleman ,a scholar and one of Sutton's finest managers.
I had the pleasure of his company once. His Sutton United Vauxhall sponsors car had broken down on the M25 and I happened to be passing and gave him a lift. He had an excellent,dry sense of humour and was so passionate about the club. RIP Barrie.
