Bit of culture for an away trip
Harrogate (/ˈhærəɡət/ HARR-ə-gət) is a spa town in North Yorkshire, England. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, the town is a tourist destination and its visitor attractions include its spa waters and RHS Harlow Carr gardens. 13 miles (21 km) away from the town centre is the Yorkshire Dales national park and the Nidderdale AONB. Harrogate grew out of two smaller settlements, High Harrogate and Low Harrogate, in the 17th century. Since 2013, polls have consistently voted the town as "the happiest place to live" in Britain.[1][2][3][4]
Harrogate spa water contains iron, sulphur and common salt. The town became known as 'The English Spa' in the Georgian era, after its waters were discovered in the 16th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries its 'chalybeate' waters (containing iron) were a popular health treatment, and the influx of wealthy but sickly visitors contributed significantly to the wealth of the town.

I have tasted the water at Harrogate. Utterly disgusting! I'll be sticking to beer on my next visit.

Whatever your feeling on them in general, I'd always suggest a visit to the Wetherspoons in Harrogate, The Winter Garden is without doubt the best of their pubs I've ever been in. It's worth it just to be in the building itself, which is part of the old Royal Baths in the town. A wonderful setting for a pint

Harrogate is indeed a wonderful town. I've been there only once. There is a very good pub called The Old Bell which had a wonderful selection of beers. Not sure where it is in relation to the ground though.

Not sure Wogan would have been commentating when this happened. Well before my time. I believe it would have been in the 60's?

Was that when we could win it occasionally because it wasn't political?
