I had no wi-fi so that only updated today, but refers to yesterday. I'm in Penrith now but have a (deserved!) rest day tomorrow so will only be 18 miles or so away.

Knowing Virgin Trains, you should make significantly better progress than me tomorrow, rest day or no!

I have been gradually working my way down the country with some fantastic walking, particularly in the Yorkshire Dales, with nothing of note to report from a football perspective.
However today I have finished just outside Huddersfiled, but walked past the Shay stadium this morning. In fact it looks like a new stand, or at lest part of one, is under construction.
As well as the Halifax Rugby League team it is rumoured a football team also play here. The last couple of times I saw them play however they seemed just as interested in contact with the opposition as with the ball.
Looking forward to seeing if that approach has changed at all this season.

Good to see the start the boys have made to the season with a haul of 7 points from a possible 9.
By a wonderful fluke of coincidence I am now 7/9 of the way through my mileage. I left Cheltenham this morning and who can forget "magic man" Roarie scoring in the 96th minute of a pulsating cup tie, nearly two years ago now.

I am really enjoying the Cotswolds and today went through Nailsworth. The name won't mean much to some but has the distinction of being the smallest town to ever have a Football League team.
The small village next door of Forest Green, whose club merged with Nailsworth nearly a century ago, gives the clue. I was at the home of the club who feature as previous employers of a number of the squad, and number of prior players too.
Every vegan fan's club of choice, Forest Green Rovers, now of Divison 2.
Pleasingly given my previous post from Cheltenham, in the same year's FA cup run, the magic man also scored an injury time winner against this opponent.

More fun in the Cotswolds and I finally arrive in Bath. Sutton have had a number of high scoring games against this opponent including a 4-0 victory for each side.
Since our promotion our paths haven't crossed on the pitch, but have seen former favourites Kevin Amankwaah and Ross Stearn head in their direction.
I hope at least some of you are enjoying the blog updates, and those that have been following will be aware I have just opened a fundraising page for two charities. One of my daughter's classmates is going through a battle with leukaemia, and a good family friend is sadly afflicted by dementia.
More details can be found on the blog at jogtolandsend.co.uk and also on the fundraising page itself which is uk.virginmoneygiving.com/timallison2
I will be walking a total of 1,214 miles and am hoping to "sell" each of those miles to raise sponsorship. I would be very grateful if anyone can purchase a mile (or more).
The real "me" is in Bath, the virtual sponsorship "me" is still residing in Scotland. It would be lovely if the two could move closer together in a race to the finish on 1st September.

I finished!
Thank you to all those that provided sponsorship.
Now, remind me. How do I get to Maidstone?

Having missed the first few games of the season, and with not long to go, I am about to miss a couple more.
Another trek is planned, this time to walk the coastline of Wales. Surprisingly, to me at least, this is almost as long as the distance from John O'Groats to Land's End.
So I will miss, if that's the right word, the away trip to Boreham Wood, and also the visit of the league leaders, unfortunately. In practice though I am effectively walking around the coastline of Wales to support the team at the Wrexham game. Anyone who doesn't know me should be able to work out who I am, being the bloke with the rucksack!
Hoping we are six points better off, and the banter is about the potential play-offs again by the time I next see our team.
